Everyone in the home office was pleasant, but the best part of being there is the smell lol, it smells so good in there I sat down and almost fell asleep. Yes thought that was my first time going to the main office and it was a good experience.

Don't rent from them. They will take your application fee then tell you a property isnt available. The listing are not kept current on their website. Staff will cancel showing the day of with an excuse that a home is not ready to view. They require an ESA from a local doctor and will not accept anything from an online telehealth provider even if they are licensed.

My residency at Flatrock Square II Apartments, managed by Chastain Properties, began in January 2024 and concluded in November 2025. Although some time has passed, I believe it is important to share my experience to provide prospective tenants with meaningful insight into the conditions I encountered during my tenancy. Prior to signing the lease, I conducted what I believed to be a thorough inspection of the apartment. The lighting in the unit was notably dim, which in retrospect made it difficult to fully evaluate its overall condition which I later believed was intentional. While I identified several concerns at that time, I was assured by the property manager that they would be promptly addressed. Initial interactions with staff were cordial; however, issues regarding the condition of the unit arose even before the lease was finalized. I ultimately signed the lease based on the understanding that the identified concerns would be resolved. After completing and submitting the move-in inspection form, it became apparent that many cosmetic deficiencies would not be remedied, reportedly due to the age of the property. In my view, the unit required more substantial renovation to meet reasonable living standards. Upon occupying the apartment, additional concerns became evident. The windows were significantly affected by grime, age-related wear, and mildew, which impaired visibility. Their plexiglass-like material made them difficult, if not impossible, to clean effectively. Contrary to prior assurances, the apartment had not been fully repainted; nail holes and visible wall stains remained throughout. The kitchen cabinets were also dated and emitted an unpleasant odor. The garden tub in the master bathroom contained extensive mildew that, according to the property manager at the time, could not be removed. Rather than replacing or properly remediating the issue, a white substance was applied over the affected areas as a cosmetic solution. This covering deteriorated over time, and the mildew resurfaced and expanded. More concerning was a persistent water leak from the master bathroom into the master bedroom. When initially reported, maintenance indicated they were unable to determine the source of the leak and placed a fan in the area as a temporary drying measure. This action did not resolve the problem. Prolonged moisture contributed to mold and mildew growth, creating potential health concerns. The issue was not fully addressed until I filed a complaint with local code enforcement authorities, after which substantive repairs were completed. Due to ongoing moisture issues in the unit, even prior to the bathroom leak, I also experienced a persistent silverfish infestation, which is commonly associated with damp environments and structural vulnerabilities. While I encountered additional concerns during my tenancy, I have limited this review to several representative examples. I retained photographic and video documentation of the conditions described above. For reasons unknown, when I previously submitted a review including supporting images, it was declined or the property had the review removed. Overall, my experience with maintenance and management was characterized by temporary, cosmetic remedies rather than comprehensive and lasting solutions. In my opinion, responses to significant maintenance concerns were often delayed or insufficient, reflecting an emphasis on short-term measures rather than long-term tenant well-being. For these reasons, I encourage prospective tenants to conduct thorough research and carefully evaluate their options before leasing at Flatrock Square II Apartments under the management of Chastain Properties. I share this account in the interest of transparency and to assist others in making informed housing decisions.

Be very cautious before applying here. They’ll happily take your application fee, then later tell you they don’t accept cats or dogs over 25 lbs. That’s information that should be made clear upfront, not after they’ve collected your money. On top of that, the properties are not well-maintained, and the management is not very helpful when issues come up. If you’re considering renting with them, make sure you call first and double-check everything—they come off like a rip-off. No you did not inform me! Don’t lie!! Nice try to make yourself look good!

I lived here for one year, just moved out in December 2024 for several reasons. The main reason I was not satisfied with the maintenance and the property manager. When I moved in so much was not done and some things they said they would not replace because it was still functional. The stove on top was rusted out unable to clean and inside as well. I informed property manager that I was leaving, I cleaned behind the stove and refrigerator which was not done when I moved in, every room upstairs was cleaned out, rugs vacuum no stains on the carpet only wear and tear. Cabinets cleaned out and wiped down. When she did a pre walk through she stated that the stove needed to be sparkling clean and I said it wasn’t when I moved in. They said I had cockroaches in my home when I did not see it while there but roaches got worst when my neighbors moved in during my last two months there. Fixing things totally the first time didn’t happen, never was able to go out my sliding door because it was hard to pull back. She told me that they normally use an $100 of the deposit to clean, they just don’t want to give me back my money. Exterminating the apartment was done but not a true job done. Neighbors were loud a lot of time after 9p at night with loud music and cussing.
