2100 Defoors Apartments

This place has become a mess. Management has changed multiple times, and with those changes have come additional fees. After two years of having a washer and dryer without an additional charge, I suddenly started being charged for them—even though that fee was not part of my original lease. I’ve also repeatedly been charged for renters insurance despite having my own coverage. The pool has been neglected so badly that it has literally turned into a green swamp and mosquito breeding ground. The mosquitoes have gotten so bad that I can barely go outside to walk my dog without being eaten alive. It’s disgusting and completely unacceptable. Maintenance is incredibly slow, if they respond at all. Sometimes it takes three separate requests just to get someone to come out. Emails routinely go unanswered. Management staff are constantly moved around, so half the time there isn’t even someone consistently available in the office—and when you do manage to reach someone, the attitude can be incredibly rude and unhelpful. Add the ridiculous parking situation, unexplained fees, poor communication, and lack of basic upkeep, and you really have to wonder where the rent money is going. Residents are paying far too much money to have to repeatedly beg management for basic maintenance, communication, and a clean, usable property. Edit: September 1, 2026: When I originally wrote this review, I deliberately left out some of the things I had been witnessing around the property because I was trying to mind my own business. Over time, however, I have personally observed more and more activity that has made me uncomfortable, including people who do not appear to be residents hanging around the property, people selling items out of the backs of vehicles, and cars coming and going at all hours of the night, stopping briefly near the apartment next to mine. I chose not to include any of that in my original review. But waking up this morning to police tape and finding out that someone was shot here last night—no more than 20 feet from where I sleep—changed that for me. I understand that crime can happen anywhere and that an apartment complex cannot prevent every incident. But when I combine what happened last night with what I have personally been observing, along with the ongoing management, maintenance, and property upkeep issues I described above, I simply cannot ignore the direction this community has taken. This is not the same place I moved into, and unfortunately, it continues to go downhill.

It’s a terrible living situation over here. Taking concerns to management is unnecessary because there will be a new manager if any one at all by the end of the week. Rotating door of horrific scenarios but they still want that rent by the 1st. Parking lot steady full of evictions. Shell cases from shootings around. It doesn’t have to be 4th of July mind you for a couple of rounds to be heard going up in the air. Pool is non-existent (Completely green going on year 3 for me) if this wasn’t right next to my job and i didn’t know how to manage it myself I’d been gone. No gate, random stolen cars are parked in the community. It’s crazy. If you’re from the subs and want to experience the ghetto. Come on down to the collier collective. Westside court, 2100, all of em. Terrible.

I was very interested in signing a lease here as the apartments seem lovely and in a good location but I was honestly shocked by how bad of an experience I had with the leasing agent in the office. I dropped by to check it out on my lunchbreak from work and was immediately turned away as she said she was too busy to assist me. Didn’t take my name, email, or offer any information and was terribly abrasive. There was no one waiting in the office, she wasn’t on the phone (she was printing what looked like packets of documents, and she even said no one was scheduled to come in. She seemed angry that I’d even walked in the door. I walked out shocked at the experience. I was ready to apply and sign on the spot, just wanted to see which of 2 available apartments had better lighting. Mind you, there’s nothing in the listing that said appointments were required. If this is how they treat prospective applicants, I hate tot think how they treat tenants. I’ve moved many times for work and met with many leasing agents and this was unfortunate the worst for me. Beware.

I met Jessica Mejia and I am determined that she’s someone who cares deeply about her residents and she tries her best to always make sure her residents are feeling comfortable! She’s great at her job!! Super satisfied with her work!

Horrible place to live. Not updated units. Pictures look nothing like apartments and there is no leasing agent on property. So once you move in there is no contact with any management and the maintenance is horrible. They make off everything as completed when they do nothing
