While many students appreciate the convenient location near campus and local amenities, along with some friendly staff and good community events, the overall living experience seems to be significantly hampered by recurring issues. Residents frequently report problems with unreliable internet, poorly maintained apartments often found dirty upon move-in, and persistent pest issues like roaches. Additionally, some have experienced slow or unhelpful responses to maintenance requests, concerns about security, and frustrations with lease transfer processes and unexpected fees.

I was a resident last year. Moved into a dump of an apartment with trash everywhere. Had to clean everything ourselves since maintenance was no help. Was then charged $100 after moving out for items that were not mine. The WiFi at this apartment was also horrible; couldn’t even do homework in my own apartment because of it. Over priced for below average apartments. Do not stay here.

My experience at The Reserve was very disappointing. I originally subleased a 2x2 unit, but when I arrived, the apartment was not in suitable move-in condition, so I had to move to a 4x4 unit instead. Management gave me the option to wait for the original unit to be repaired and move back later or remain in the 4x4, and I chose to stay in the 4x4. Although I paid the higher 2x2 rate for two months, management refunded the rent difference for only one month. The apartment was old, and the air conditioning did not work properly. The carpet became wet several times, causing a strong and unpleasant smell in my bedroom, and I often had to leave my bedroom door open to ventilate the room. These problems happened repeatedly during my stay. On my first day, my key did not work, so I could not lock my bedroom. Since I moved in after 4:00 p.m., the manager told me to wait but then left for the day without resolving the issue and later sent me an email explaining the situation. This made an already stressful move-in experience even more frustrating. Living in the 4x4 unit also felt crowded, and my roommate experience was not good. One roommate brought an additional refrigerator into the apartment, which may have contributed to the high electricity bills. During winter break, some roommates were away and agreed to pay only a small portion of the utility bill, leaving another roommate and me to cover most of the high heating costs because the heater still had to be used. When I asked management for help, I was told that utility disputes between roommates were not their responsibility. The property was also inconvenient for someone without a car. Whenever I needed to take out the trash or collect a large package, I had to walk all the way to the front of the property. Parts of the route did not have a proper sidewalk, which made carrying large or heavy items especially difficult. The computer room was also not very useful because several computers did not have a mouse, while the computer that did have a mouse was not working properly. To be fair, maintenance generally responded after requests were submitted, and management accommodated my move to another unit when the original apartment was not ready. However, the repeated air-conditioning problems, wet carpet, unpleasant smell, move-in access issue, partial rent adjustment, crowded living conditions, roommate-related utility disputes, inconvenient property layout, and poorly maintained computer-room equipment made my stay stressful. Overall, based on my personal experience, I would not choose to live at The Reserve again.
