The Flats at 249

I lived here for 8 months, and unfortunately my move-out experience was extremely disappointing. My lease was for 9 months, but I had to leave the country after 7.5 months due to urgent personal circumstances. Despite this, management showed no flexibility or understanding and continued to pressure me to pay the final month’s rent, even though the unit remained vacant for approximately 45 days!!! On top of that, they deducted the full amount of my security deposit for cleaning, claiming the cost matched it exactly, which felt highly questionable and lacked transparency. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before signing a lease here. Unless you are absolutely certain you will stay for the full term and are prepared to almost certainly lose your deposit, this may not be the right place.

The flats was a decent place to live. On site management was polite, responsive, resourceful. The downside is 'corporate' which has unreal policies they follow when you move out. Don't expect to get your deposit back in full even if you employ a professional cleaning service to leave the unit in the best condition possible - even better than it was when you moved in.

I spent a year there and recently relocated to Florida for work. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this apartment! I loved my little studio and the community was so welcoming. They had great maintenance guys and property manager, no issues with mail or anything. They have storage units that definitely came in handy and there’s usually always something going during the summer on weekends. The only thing missing in my opinion was a gym, but other than that, it was perfect!

I lived here for 6 months and loved my little studio. Everything was brand new in the apartment and very affordable for what you would rent elsewhere in the city. This is a great location and walking distance from the microbrewery, the aquarium, civic center, a library, boutique shopping, and quite a few restaurants and bars. There are great running and bike trails down by the river and a small gym in the neighborhood as well. The only reason I moved was to go to grad school.

There are incredible people, businesses, events, and groups coming to pour time and energy into our city. So it’s an absolute honor to have the opportunity to be here at the very beginning! For those of y’all who know how excited I am about being here at The Flats at 249, this is just the beginning. However, it’s not just me that is excited about the future here. Just Ask anyone else who has had the opportunity to visit The City of Albany’s downtown recently about their experience, and I guarantee that they will share the same excitement as myself. A remarkable future is sitting on the horizon for our city, people, and the businesses surrounding them. So it is now your choice to be a part of one of the most unique times to be a citizen of the great Albany, Georgia. I know I can’t wait for what’s next
