I rarely leave reviews, but I feel a responsibility to share my experience so others—especially young women living alone—can make an informed decision before signing a lease at The Wayland. While living here, I reported a serious incident involving a maintenance employee. He attempted to enter my apartment without knocking or being let in, made unwanted physical advances toward me, and attempted to kiss me. A police report was filed regarding these incidents. Later, someone attempted to open my apartment door again, leaving me so fearful for my safety that I stayed inside my apartment the entire next day. Even after reporting everything to management and law enforcement, I continued to see the same maintenance employee working on the property, which only increased my fear and uncertainty about my safety. What happened afterward was just as disappointing as the incident itself. I was told I would receive updates from management, but I received none. I repeatedly called the leasing office looking for information, and my calls went unanswered. My mother, father, and stepfather also called and left messages requesting updates, but those calls were ignored as well. We sent multiple detailed emails requesting information about the investigation, the status of hallway surveillance footage, and what steps were being taken to protect residents. Those requests were either ignored or met with little to no communication. When I went to the leasing office in person, I left feeling dismissed rather than supported. As someone reporting an incident that had left me fearful in my own home, I expected empathy, professionalism, and transparency. Instead, I felt like I had to fight simply to receive basic communication. It wasn’t until I informed management that I intended to break my lease because I no longer felt safe living there that I finally began receiving responses. That was incredibly frustrating after weeks of trying to get answers through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits. Beyond this experience, I also dealt with ongoing management and communication issues throughout my time at The Wayland. It often felt like resident concerns were treated as an inconvenience instead of a priority. The apartments themselves may look beautiful, but safety and responsive management matter far more than aesthetics. If you’re a young woman planning to live alone, I encourage you to consider not only the apartment itself, but how management responds when a resident reports a serious safety concern. My experience left me feeling unsupported, unheard, and ultimately forced to move because I no longer felt safe in the place I was supposed to call home. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience what I did.

As a CURRENT resident for almost a year now, I will say the amenities and location are nice. However that is the only thing “luxury” about this complex. Tacking on ridiculous fees for a complex that, half the time doesn’t even have working features. I randomly started getting charged pet fees out of nowhere again which finally got resolved after months of ignoring my emails and never answering calls, it took me leaving a negative review on a survey to finally get a response. The elevators are constantly broken, I was stuck in one for about 30 minutes last week, and it hasn’t been back in service since, the parking garage gate and elevator are constantly broken, not to mention broken glass all over the floor that hasn’t been picked up in weeks, front doors never working, I found blood in the elevator that wasn’t cleaned up for at least a whole day, the hallways (especially on the 9th floor) always smell terrible, mold in the AC, more than half of their overpriced laundry machines haven’t worked since I’ve moved in, it’s embarassing to bring friends here, to a place they call “luxury”. I never write reviews but I felt like I need to with this. I will NOT be renewing my lease and I cannot wait to get out of here.

I’m seriously loving my experience here at The Wayland!! From day one, Matt has been absolutely amazing. He was so kind and helpful when I first toured, and that support hasn’t stopped since I moved in. He checks in, answers all my questions and genuinely cares—which honestly feels so rare these days. You can tell he puts his heart into everything he does, and it truly makes all the difference! The Wayland itself is beautiful—super clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully maintained. The amenities are great, the views are stunning, and the building is so quiet you can’t hear your neighbors at all. Anytime I’ve needed something, maintenance and staff are quick to respond, which makes everything feel easy and stress-free. Also, huge shoutout to Malakai at the front—he’s always so warm and welcoming. I feel really safe here, and seeing his smiling face every day brings such a sense of comfort. That kind of presence matters so much :) Even my mom came to visit and loved it so much she said she might move in with me—LOL. That honestly says it all. Thank you to Matt, Malakai, and the entire Wyaland team for making this place feel like home. I’m so grateful to be here! ❤️
