While the location is a definite plus for students, especially those attending the University of Tampa, and some individual staff members like Angie, Becky, and Carlos receive consistent praise for their helpfulness, the day-to-day living experience can be challenging. Many residents report issues with cleanliness, pest control, slow maintenance response times, and an abundance of unexpected fees that significantly increase the advertised rent. Communication with management regarding these concerns also appears to be a common point of frustration.

My son lived at Vintage Lofts for two years and was a respectful tenant who paid his rent on time and took good care of the apartment. While there were several maintenance and operational issues during his residency, we handled those matters professionally and never sought compensation or concessions. What ultimately led to this review was the move-out process. After personally helping with the move-out and conducting our own walkthrough of the apartment, we were surprised by several of the charges assessed against the security deposit, including carpet replacement and trash removal fees that we believe were excessive and unreasonable based on the condition of the unit when it was vacated. What has been most disappointing is the inability to have a meaningful conversation with someone empowered to resolve the issue. Emails have been exchanged, but despite multiple attempts, we have been unable to speak directly with management regarding our concerns. Every apartment community will have occasional issues. What separates a good experience from a poor one is how concerns are handled. Unfortunately, our experience at the end of the lease fell well short of our expectations. Thank you for the response. Respectfully, the issue is not a lack of clarification. We have reviewed the photos and exchanged multiple emails. Our concern is that despite repeated requests, we have been unable to speak directly with a manager or decision-maker who can discuss a fair resolution. Directing us to another email address continues the same process that has already proven unsuccessful.

Let's start with the trash service. They charge you an absurd fee per item left outside your door; we're talking nickel and diming you to death, yet the valet trash team shows up whenever they feel like it, which is rarely and never on a consistent schedule. So you're getting fined for trash that they won't even come pick up. The AC broke in our unit, and it was over 90 degrees inside for FOUR DAYS. Uninhabitable. Unacceptable. A literal health hazard. After fighting for any kind of reasonable compensation on a $3,500/month lease, the best they could do was a $100 goodwill credit. One hundred dollars. That's what four days of living in a sauna are worth to these people. The audacity is genuinely staggering. And don't even get me started on paying rent. They turned off our E-Pay feature with no real explanation, no alternative solution offered, and now we are required to mail a cashier's check to pay rent. In 2026. You can't drop it at the leasing office, you can't pay online, you have to physically go to a bank, get a cashier's check drafted, and put it in the mail like it's 1987. For a $3,500 apartment. Absolutely embarrassing for a corporate operation this size. Speaking of the leasing office, Angelica is fine; she's friendly and cares. But Ryan? Not very friendly and seemed bothered by basic questions. Not that it matters either way because neither of them have any actual power to do anything. UDR is so deeply corporate that every single issue gets kicked up a chain that nobody can reach. Try calling the office; nobody picks up. Try escalating; good luck. You will jump through more hoops trying to get a simple issue resolved here than anywhere I've ever lived. The elevators have been out of service for months. Months. In a multi-story building. Moving in and out was an absolute disaster because of this, and nobody seems to have any urgency to fix it. Meanwhile, the hallways and stairwells look like a trash depot, constantly filthy and rarely cleaned, which is extra rich considering they're out here fining residents over trash outside their own door. We are not dirty people. On multiple occasions, we were forced to call pest control because of large cockroaches in the unit. This is not a one-time thing; it happened repeatedly. For what they're charging, this is inexcusable. There are zero resident events, zero sense of community, zero effort to make this feel like anything other than a corporate cash grab. It genuinely feels like the management company views tenants as liabilities rather than customers. The ONE saving grace, and I mean the only reason any star exists on this review, is Carlos from the maintenance team. Carlos is a professional, actually shows up when he says he will, and handles business. Carlos deserves a raise and a better employer. I would like to note, I have never once left a 1-star review in my life, so congratulations, Vintage Lofts, on being a first for me. and by the way, most of these 5 star reviews are fake or about the "tour." not their experience living here which I have for 2 years Do not move here. There are better options in Tampa, and you deserve one of them.

Vintage Lofts at West End is hands down one of the most disgusting and poorly managed apartment complexes I have ever lived in. They charge luxury prices while tenants deal with roaches, termites, broken appliances, filthy hallways, and management that refuses to do anything about it. There are roaches throughout the property and now termites as well, which they continue to ignore. I’m attaching photos because nobody would believe how bad this place actually is otherwise. The hallways constantly smell like weed, the carpets and walls are stained and dirty, and the entire building is neglected. Maintenance requests go unanswered for weeks. I had a broken refrigerator for over a week, no AC for over a week in Florida heat, and a broken washer for more than three weeks. The office staff does nothing except avoid accountability or ignore you completely while residents continue paying outrageous rent prices to live in these conditions. Whatever they say rent is just know there’s about 450$ -500$ more for stupid charges like parking trash (which rarely comes ) then charge a 75$ fee for leaving it outside on trash days , paying to get your mail every month and just miscellaneous fees for no reason that they absolutely WILL RAISE MID LEASE. most of the doors to get inside the building or stairwells are left open the alarms going off all the time and also if you walk around the stairwells you will see HOMELESS PEOPLE PASSED OUT in the stairwells or one was living in the lounge ! It’s not a private nor secure place to live . Nothing about this property is luxury. It is dirty, infested, overpriced, and completely mismanaged. If you are considering moving here, don’t. Look anywhere else

Angie has been so helpful throughout everything. She’s always professional, responsive, and willing to help when needed. I’ve also noticed a lot of improvements in the community, which is great to see. Overall, I’ve had a positive experience.

Absolutely useless. The send you reminders that you should not be late for the showing and when you get there they do not have anything to show. Probably AI!
