Lake Kathy Apartments

I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by the security officers at this apartment complex. I had literally just pulled into my assigned reserve parking space and had been sitting in my car for less than two minutes when two security officers approached my vehicle and tried to get my attention. Instead of introducing themselves or asking if I needed assistance, they immediately started lecturing me about the community rules. I wasn't causing any disturbance, wasn't violating any rules, and had only just arrived home. The interaction felt unnecessary, intimidating, and completely unwarranted. Residents should be able to sit in their own vehicle for a moment after arriving home without being approached and made to feel like they've done something wrong. Security should be focused on keeping the community safe, not making residents feel uncomfortable over nothing. I quickly ended the conversation because I didn't appreciate being approached in that manner. Experiences like this create a negative environment rather than making residents feel secure. I hope management addresses how security interacts with residents and emphasizes professionalism, courtesy, and using better judgment before confronting people who are simply parked at their own home. I have two autistic children that were fast asleep in the back seat I deserve two minutes to get myself together before getting out of my vehicle without being harassed about the community guidelines. They should be worried about these kids tearing up the community and playing in the street with no adult supervision. They need to worry about people bringing guns and dealing drugs rather than me with no criminal record. I did call the company directly and if I ever get approached as soon as I get home I will go beyond corporate.

When I first moved into this community, my rent was approximately $760 per month. Today, a two-bedroom apartment costs nearly $1,500 per month, yet the condition of the property has continued to decline instead of improve. I have lived here for seven years, and during that time it has been one problem after another. I have taken numerous photos and videos documenting these ongoing conditions, and they are not isolated incidents—they happen on a regular basis. The trash compactor is constantly overflowing, leaving garbage scattered around the area and attracting rodents and roaches. The hallways are frequently filthy and poorly maintained. There are recurring rodent and mouse problems inside the walls, and I have experienced ongoing roach infestations in my apartment. Dust and debris are also a constant issue. One of the most disturbing problems is the lack of safety in the parking lot. Children are regularly playing in areas where vehicles are driving and parking. There appears to be little or no supervision, creating a dangerous situation for both the children and residents' property. As a result of this unsafe environment, my brand-new vehicle's windshield was recently shattered while it was parked. I am now left to deal with the cost and inconvenience of repairing my vehicle. No resident should have to worry about their property being damaged simply because basic safety rules are not being enforced. In addition, loud music frequently comes from the pool area, disrupting the peace and quiet that residents should be able to enjoy in their own homes. For the amount of rent residents are paying today, we deserve a clean, safe, secure, and properly maintained community. Unfortunately, after seven years of living here, that has not been my experience.

I have been living here for almost 10 years now and never have they ever came to renovate anything for me. Everything in my apartment is old and broken. I’ve had the same carpet since I’ve moved in and never have they changed it the oven top barely work. It’s almost like my apartment is falling apart for my eyes. They are not willing to help make my experience better. Lastly, the apartment complex is completely roach infested from outside to inside. I do plan on moving soon. I think them for housing need for the past 10 years but my time here has to be cut.

Been coming to this wonderful complex to visit my children. Never had an issue with the staff, neighbors, or anyone I've come across, always have a great experience in this beautiful complex until recently. The new security guard is extremely unprofessional, lack of manners, comically tries to be intimidating and constantly harassing being discriminative about smoking outside of the building. Although I followed all Lake Kathy's regulations and policy he still continues his child like conduct. He is a slim old man, armed security that seems to be in a power trip and needs to take civil courses on how to proceed as an adult and function for his job. I am not only speaking for myself but for the others that have been facing similar experiences with this individual.
