This complex offers a vibrant social atmosphere with frequent resident events and a friendly staff that many students praise for their helpfulness and responsiveness, especially regarding maintenance requests. However, some students have expressed frustration with the parking situation, noting limited availability for both residents and guests, which can lead to towing issues. It's worth considering these points to ensure it aligns with your priorities for day-to-day living.

DO NOT LIVE AT THE LOCALE. When we moved in, the apartment was disgusting and filled with furniture left behind by previous tenants. Despite this, we were later charged to have that same furniture removed. They also took pictures of dirty vents and charged us cleaning fees, even though the apartment was already in terrible condition when we received it. Some of the “damage” charges were even more ridiculous. They took random pictures of pillows and ceiling fans and listed them as damages without providing a reasonable explanation, they will charge for your common areas for anything. This shiesty company will look for any excuse to charge residents additional fees, it's pathetic. look to live elsewhere.

If I could put 0 stars I would. I have lived at The Locale for my entire freshman year, and I can confidently say I would never choose to live here again. If you’re considering signing a lease, please read this first because I wish someone had warned me. The biggest issue with The Locale is the complete lack of communication and consistency. Every single person in the leasing office tells you something different. You’ll ask the same question to two employees and get two completely different answers. Then months later, they’ll act like they never told you what they originally said. It’s beyond frustrating because you’re expected to follow policies that even the staff can’t seem to agree on. A perfect example is when we first moved in. We were assigned the wrong bedrooms. We immediately went to the leasing office to ask if it would be a problem to switch rooms, and we were specifically told it wouldn’t be an issue. We switched based on what THEY told us. Now that the year is ending, they’re suddenly saying we weren’t supposed to do that and acting like they never gave us permission. It’s unbelievable how they refuse to take responsibility for the information they gave us. Maintenance has been just as disappointing. My toilet was broken for an entire week. Seven days without a working toilet is unacceptable, especially considering how much rent we pay. It shouldn’t take a week to fix something as basic as a functioning bathroom. When maintenance finally came, I expected the issue to at least be resolved professionally. Instead, I came home to dirt and debris all over my toilet and a dirty paper towel left on my bathroom counter. It felt like no one cared enough to clean up after themselves before leaving. Another experience that completely disgusted me happened after we had already lived here for eight months. We kept wondering why there was a smell in our apartment that we could never get rid of. When we finally asked maintenance, they told us the previous resident had been extremely unsanitary and had left the apartment in terrible condition. It was shocking to find out we’d apparently been living with the aftermath of that for most of our lease. If that’s true, why wasn’t the apartment properly cleaned or remediated before new residents moved in? On top of everything else, the customer service is some of the worst I’ve experienced. Many of the employees come across as rude and dismissive whenever you ask questions or need help. Instead of feeling like residents are valued, you’re made to feel like you’re an inconvenience for expecting basic communication and maintenance. The amenities and marketing might make this place look appealing, but don’t let that fool you. Once you’ve signed your lease, getting consistent answers, timely maintenance, or respectful treatment becomes a struggle. I spent my entire freshman year here, and it has been filled with unnecessary stress because of management and maintenance issues. Between the poor communication, conflicting information from staff, slow maintenance, lack of professionalism, and the overall way residents are treated, I cannot recommend The Locale to anyone. There are plenty of other apartments in Tallahassee where your concerns will actually be taken seriously. Save yourself the frustration and sign somewhere else.

This place is nothing more than a mirage of hidden charges. They make the students PAY to park in the place they live and Tow their guests at will. Not to mention all the other hidden ridiculous charges. Not a place for college students or parents on a budget. Parents Beware!

I had a terrible experience living at Locale Tallahassee. I thought that, for the price, the living standards would be good, but I was wrong. One of the biggest issues was parking. My car was towed, then right after my parking decal was accidentally removed, and the apartment complex still forced me to pay over $200 for a simple replacement decal. The manager showed no respect or understanding toward the situation. Parking was already difficult all year and expensive, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. Beyond that, the building was not well kept. The hallways were often dirty, smelled bad, and had a big problem with roaches. The elevators would stop working for months at a time. I also had mail delivered through a friend that was lost, and management never followed up with me about it. On top of that, the noise from neighbors in the courtyard was a constant issue. The only positive part of my experience was the maintenance staff, who were incredible, and the people working at the front office, who were always nice. Other than that, the place may look nice from the outside and seem like a good option at first, but based on my experience, I would not recommend living here.
