Hillwood Apartments

Lived here for 5 years, in one of the duplexes. I don’t have complaints. I think it’s a fair price for what you get. The office staff were always responsive & kind. The same with maintenance. This is not a brand new building, you aren’t paying the brand new building rent. We were very comfortable here and would recommend to people. We never had an issue with bugs, they spray regularly. We personally never had any issues with neighbors. I think some lower ratings are honestly from people having too high of expectations for what it is, if that’s you, just rent in a gated apartment complex. They exist.

If I could rate a 10/10, I would. The neighborhood is quiet and clean. Neighbors have been friendly as well. Anytime I have placed a maintenance request, the job was done in an appropriate amount of time, so I’d like to say thank you for that. The two beautiful Queens they have running the show are absolutely amazing! They are very genuine, transparent, and the lines of communication are exceptional! During a rough patch in my life, they redirected me to resources that could assist me during that rut which is them going above and beyond for a tenant which I will forever hold dear to my heart. I cannot thank you both enough! If you are looking somewhere to call home, this should be added as an option on your list 😉.

Horrible leasing staff, I leased the apartment complex back in 2022 and after living there for 2 and a half years I left the place. Now when I ask them for my security deposit Paula (Leasing Agent) asked me to show the receipt of security deposit. First of all, do apartment complex even allow someone to lease without a security deposit and secondly, I showed her proof of an email which mentioned that I deposit security. she simply denied it saying anyone can send the email. Along with that, they are extremely rude and have horrible customer service. Kindly save your receipt for future.

I have been here about 7 months now. I will go down the list. I haven't had any issues with the front office. They have always been super nice to me since I came in to view an apartment. Like really welcoming. The maintenance does suck sometimes but that goes for any apartment. They have a new maintenance man that does seem to be a lot friendlier than the previous one that came by. My request for maintenance are always filled so I can't complain. I did have an issue with mold in the guest bathroom but if you have lived anywhere in Florida you know that mold grows everywhere and especially bathrooms that get damp often. I did have a slight problem with bugs when I first moved in but they sprayed my appt every week and I don't have that problem now. I honestly can't complain. I have one of the updated units and my updates are nice. It's worth the money but that's just my opinion.

I have to start off by saying, Hillwood Apartments has the most unprofessional property manager that I have dealt with in my 15 years in Tallahassee. Rebecca Kelley-Fournier, is the rudest and most disrespectful person I have met in my life. After failing to resolve ongoing issues, she called the cops on me after a confrontation that she started. I am checking all my option, from legal standpoint.
