Shalimar at Plantation

The electric car charging stations have been inoperable for at least a year. There has been only one charging station that works and it’s extremely slow. ONE operable car charger for TWO buildings. Then the package room is where 8 of my delivered packages were stolen from. It’s just a big room with packages and anyone can grab anything they want to. The best part about the stolen packages is that there are security cameras in the building but management will not let you know who stole your items. Don’t move here if you need to charge your vehicle or if you don’t want your packages stolen! There are better places to live for less money where you can live, charge your car & not have your packages stolen!!!

I have lived at Shalimar West for the last 30 months. It is a typical corporate type rental community. Management is constantly changing and communication between managers and residents is poor. The worst thing about Shalimar is the poor phone signal. It is terrible and there is NOTHING you can do about it. I work from home and this made my life miserable. Otherwise the amenities and maintenance services and security are all acceptable.

My main issue is with the Manager Katie D. Who wants to post my Rent Payment at the end of the month when the Corporate Office gets the Payment on the first of every month. Then she manually keys in the payments received on the first. I have been dealing with this since February 2026, going to the office first. I've emailed several times to resolve this matter. I called the Corporate office regarding these late fee's, leaving messages on several voicemail in May & July, the last voicemail was left for Mr. Matt Tucker. It's unacceptable and surely, if the Manager doesn't care, the Corporate Office should care to stop this from happening knowing there receiving rent payments on the first of the month. What type of Company allows these late fee's to hit my account with knowing they've received their payments on time every month? There has been scary things that has occurred with a squat team of officers searching for someone in the Building where I couldn't leave the premises. The Elevator closest to my unit was not working, when I moved in January 2026, so we had a longer walk to even get into the unit. My air filter never been changed until I had been here 6 months. I found out you have to put in a workorder for it. I've dealt with more than anyone should moving here, thinking my experience would be Great! It hasn't been because of the Manager of the property & her discriminatory acts against me. I believe there are some Personable Professionals there, certainly Mr. Basil was kind, courteous & Professional. I wish I had a better experience. I meant to also mention a office letter from Erica Johnson, was left in my door in June to do work to the balcony, no one ever showed up.
