Sherwood on the Park

Nothing's perfect, but the new property manager is working hard to turn things around. The previous management office people were difficult to deal with and sometimes outright rude. Maintenance requests would go unanswered and I felt like the buck as being passed. But the new woman is a pleasure to deal with, and seems to be invested in making Sherwood the best it can be. I like being tucked away in the woods. It's a great location and within minutes of anything you could need. They're not new and they're not luxury, but that's okay because most modern construction is cheap and poorly built. It has charm, not greige everywhere.

When I first moved into Sherwood - the management was great. Unfortunately, ever since it was put under new management it went down hill quickly. Shortly after the switch, and in a desperate attempt to fill apartments - the standard of which applications were being approved was clearly waived which resulted in an influx of garbage around the property, dog poop not being cleaned up by the owners, chicken wings being discarded across the property, loud music, unattended small children (dangerous for the children not so much an issue noise wise) and german roaches appearing in the apartments. I was also told upon move in that regular pest control was preformed INSIDE of the apartments (which I inquired about multiple times before signing) only to find out that this was a lie. Emergency maintenance requests due to water flooding my carpet were apparently not considered an emergency until I called 8 times and left message after message trying to escalate the issue. The maintenance crew and Rob do their best to keep up and are great however I feel that the new property manager and a receptionist that doesn't speak well enough english to properly relay messages or understand requests has put them under so much stress that they are unable to keep up. Lastly - all the apartments are being fully renovated upon move out; which is great. However, I have been unable to get a hold of anyone in regards to being charged for "replacing the carpet" after move out when I stopped by and was able to see that entire bedroom where this supposed carpet replacement is happening had been fully remodeled with wood paneled flooring. Essentially - I was charged a $250 "replacement fee" for them to throw away an old carpet thats "damage" was to the extent of normal wear and tear especially considering the flooding issue they kept putting band aids over instead of fixing. All that being said, there are some positive aspects - Rob is a great employee and very helpful in the office, the location is great - right next to schools, close to University Dr and therefor lots of restaurants and job opportunities and across from a beautiful park with walking trails. Its a shame the new property management has been unable to keep a standard and has let the community ruin the complex.

The only thing I can say about this place is that they don’t give two drops of hot spit about you as the resident.. 4 years I’ve lived here and for 4 years the air conditioner has been a -5 on a 1-10 scale! Every time I’ve had a problem with it, it was basically said that it was my fault or given some kind of never ending loop of an answer.. I told them it’s frozen, he says “let it thaw out so I can check it.” After it thaws out he said “it’s running fine, I can’t check it while it’s frozen but I can’t tell what’s wrong while it’s running, but it’s running good now” for 4 years this is the kinda run around I’ve been getting! I have a special need ms child!!!! If he has a seizure due to the INCOMPETENCE of this maintenance team?! I will make it my business to to see this management team gets the shutdown they deserve.. Nobody cares enough to do anything right around here. DONT LIVE HERE!! You definitely will regret it..
