I would not recommend living here if you expect to receive your security deposit back. It felt like they did everything they could to find reasons to keep it. When you move in, they have you complete a damage inspection form to document any existing issues with the apartment. They tell you it’s there to protect both you and them. Unfortunately, when it came time for me to move out and dispute a charge for a crack in the washing machine that had been there since day one, that form suddenly couldn’t be found. The documentation I was told would protect me somehow disappeared from their records. Another frustrating experience involved a small camera mount that I accidentally left attached to the wall. I was initially told I was being charged because of a “missing smoke detector,” which was completely false. After I provided evidence proving it was only a camera mount and that no smoke detector was missing, instead of removing the charge, they simply changed the reason and charged me $120 for wall repairs. What’s even more concerning is that their own move-out policy states that small nail holes from hanging pictures or TVs are patched by maintenance at no charge. Despite that written policy, I was still charged $120 for what amounted to a few small holes from the camera mount. It felt like they were determined to keep part of my deposit regardless of the facts. If you choose to live here, take photos and videos of absolutely everything when you move in and move out, and keep copies of every document you sign. Don’t assume the paperwork they ask you to complete will actually be available if you ever need it. My experience left me feeling that the move-out process was more about finding ways to charge residents than fairly evaluating the condition of the apartment.
