You’re only just over a 10-minute drive to Norfolk State University when you live at Heritage at Freemason Harbour. Or you can catch the Tide light rail, just a few minutes from your door, for a scenic ride to school in 30 minutes. Head just a couple of blocks from home to reach the waterfront and get a taste of Norfolk’s celebrated naval history, taking a tour of the USS Wisconsin BB-64 battleship before exploring the Nauticus maritime museum. Make your way to Town Point Park for a picnic or listen to an open air festival as you gaze out across the water and watch the sun set.
When you get home from class, grab your sports gear from your walk-in closet then work up a sweat in the 24-hour exercise center. Jump into a hot shower in your room’s private master bathroom or catch your breath while you look down at the tree-lined street from your balcony. At dinner time, whip up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen or head to nearby eatery and former church, the Freemason Abbey Restaurant for great food.
There’s plenty of opportunity to get a head start on your assignment in the newly remodeled business center, or hook up to the internet and work in the privacy of your own room. The upmarket clubhouse area has Wi-Fi, making it easy to meet up with friends for group work. In the summer, sit in the landscaped garden area some peace and quiet while you tackle your reading list.
