Move into Purdue’s sporty neighborhood where golf courses, nature trails and wildlife reserves surround the bustling campus
Live at the center of Purdue’s college sports scene, where the classic American team spirit is contagious. Just a stone’s throw from lectures and eateries on campus, Outer West Lafayette is where students come to play ball and experience the great outdoors.
Follow the university’s exceptional athletics team by watching them compete, catch a game of football or maybe even join the soccer league at Ross-Ade Stadium. Stop at the South End Zone Patio to pick up game-time snacks - you’ll need a boost of energy to cheer on your new team!
Beyond campus, Celery Bog Nature Preserve is a haven for stunning scenery and tranquility. Armed with a good book, a camera and your best walking shoes, retreat from urban life to the nature trails that meander through these pretty wetlands. Look out for cute squirrels, rabbits and native birds en route.
Take up the challenge of cycling to Prophetstown, Indiana’s newest state park. Spend a long weekend swimming, fishing or cooking under the stars among hundreds of acres of restored prairie lands. Wander through the wide open spaces of Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, where you can try getting around 18-holes or simply enjoy the fresh air away from the hubbub of the city centre.
On the way home, collect takeout from one of the quintessentially American eateries on Win Hentschel Boulevard or Sagamore Parkway. Maybe even stop off for a cold, refreshing shake at the vintage-inspired Route 66 Diner.
