Enjoy laid-back living in Ealing - a leafy London suburb with great places to eat, drink and shop on your doorstep.
Arrive at Ealing’s busy, well-connected station and the thing you’ll most notice is - it’s green! But Ealing is no provincial backwater. You’re just 20 minutes from central London, although you’ll probably find everything you need is here already. No need to hit Oxford Street - just head to the town centre for fantastic shopping with plenty of big high street brands.
Go for a walk or run in Walpole Park and take time to lose yourself in the lovely neighbourhood streets, admiring the grand Victorian houses on your way. With 10 public parks and four nature conservation areas, there are plenty of quiet spots to sit on the grass, contemplate life and escape the city’s hustle and bustle.
You’ll find plenty of places to meet up with friends and socialise too. In the evening go for a drink in the North Star, a brilliant local pub, chill out in the Drayton Court Hotel’s huge beer garden, or treat yourself to dinner at Charlotte’s Place, just one of Ealing’s many great neighbourhood restaurants. And don’t forget the free jazz, blues and comedy festivals that take place over the summer.
If you’re a student at UWL or the Met Film School, you’re just a few minutes walk from class but wherever you’re studying, Ealing can be a sensible choice. With great tube and rail links you can be at Imperial College, UCL, LSE and a host of other universities in no time at all.
