From International Student Residence, you can catch the metro to Long Island University, New York University and the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering in under half an hour. Whether you choose a shared dorm or a private room, getting ready for class couldn’t be easier. Roll out of bed, head to the bathroom for a hot shower, then sit down with a cup of coffee at the dining area breakfast bar. Alternatively, grab a bagel to go from nearby cafe Otha’s, then walk two minutes to your nearest metro stop.
When you get home, greet the 24-hour receptionist on your way through the lobby, then wander up to your air-conditioned bedroom. Lock your valuables in the safety deposit box, before meeting your friends in the communal lounge. Spend an hour or two watching movies on the big screen TV, or researching an assignment using the high-speed Wi-Fi. When you’re done, restore your energy levels with a vending machine snack, then print your work on the lounge computers.
With towels and linens included and a laundry room on-site, keeping on top of the housework is easy, giving you more time to relax. Spend the evening playing ping pong in the games room, or cooking in the full guest kitchen. For something different, organise a residents’ barbecue, or head to one of your local restaurants for dinner. Try Taco Santana for mouthwatering Mexican, or Shalom Japan for unique Jewish-Japanese fusion. With no curfew, you can stay out for as long as you like.
