Great public transport links mean that you can reach university in minutes. Jump on the bus and get to lectures at University of Hull in 17 minutes, or walk to Hull College in less than 10 minutes. When you need to hit the books, you’re a one-minute walk from Hull Central Library, and it’s an five-minute walk to Hull Station, which makes it easy to explore the surrounding area.
You’ll feel as if you’re stepping into history when you get back to The Townhouse. The building dates back to 1846, when Queen Victoria commissioned it for her personal physician Sir James Anderson. It’s been carefully restored and modernised, but you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful period features like the sweeping staircase and ornate pillars, as well as more modern additions like the Italian marble entrance hall.
Back in your room, equipped with mini-fridge, switch on your plasma TV to catch up on your favourite show, make a cup of coffee, and connect to the superfast lightstream internet access service to start work on your latest assignment. You can also relax, and use the iPod docking station to play your favourite music, then freshen up in your ensuite. If you’d rather work with friends, there’s a large communal study room where you can collaborate on group projects.
With work out of the way, head to one of the five individual kitchens to cook dinner, then take your plate to the dining area and chat to friends as you eat. Spend your evening hanging out in the lounge, or meet friends for drinks at nearby pub The Hop and Vine.
