West End Vancouver
Welcome to a natural paradise where you can eat like a king, shop until you drop and watch glorious sunsets over the bay
Vancouver’s West End is the perfect fusion of boundless nature and buzzing big city. The vibrant streets are broken up with views of the snow-capped North Shore Mountains, and you can walk from shimmering Coal Harbour on one side of the peninsula to the open water of English Bay on the other in around 20 minutes - that’s if you don’t stop to grab a latte or bento box on the way! Hit the shops before hiking around the Lost Lagoon in huge Stanley Park, or sit by the traditional stone inukshuk sculpture in Sunset Beach Park to watch the sun go down before catching a show in an art-deco theater.
Food lovers will feel right at home in West End Vancouver. Kitanoya Guu Original serves up some of the best Japanese barbecue in town, while you can get stuck into spicy pork belly at Sura Korean Cuisine or try the knockout pho at Cafe Phin. Have a lazy brunch watching the world go by with an espresso and homemade granola at Greenhorn coffeehouse, then spend a rainy afternoon taking afternoon tea at Soirette Macarons & Tea or tuck into a waffle at trendy Nero Belgian Waffle Bar.
In the winter, there are plenty of places to cozy up indoors to beat the chill. Hit the shopping district around Robson Street for everything from designer stores to fashion chains, or find a unique new look at Used House of Vintage and The Wildlife Thrift Store. Get a culture fix at the Vancouver Art Gallery followed by a night of live music at historic music venue Commodore Ballroom before meandering home.
