Glamorous high rises and historic brick townhouses; Center City is the perfect urban fusion
If you are looking for a cosmopolitan yet affordable city lifestyle during your studies, Center City certainly fits the bill. After lectures, head to arts venue Philadelphia's Magic Gardens, before exploring world-renowned collections at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Shopaholics can browse racks upon racks of vintage steals at Wardrobe Boutique before having a game at Devil’s Alley Bar and Grill, following by a chorizo burger.
The foodie scene in the area is bursting with options, from farmers’ markets to upscale offerings. Try local ice cream and tasty pork at the Reading Terminal farmers’ market, or dine on sushi at Fuji Mountain Japanese restaurant. While you are at the Asian eatery, check out the karaoke bar in the back, before heading to the nearby Kelliann’s Bar & Grill for a nightcap.
Around your studies, walk in the picturesque Paine’s Park or stretch out in one of the Bikram Yoga Philadelphia classes. Then end your day with a cold drink at the rustic-chic Brü Craft & Wurst. When you want to get out of town, stroll over to the 30th Street Station to hop on a train to New York City or Washington, DC. With so much to do in Center City, you won’t be in a hurry to leave, however.
