Most residents at Union College are accommodated in single, carpeted study bedrooms which are cleaned once a week by College cleaning staff. Bedrooms are equipped with single bed, spacious wardrobe cupboard & drawers, full length mirror, study desk & shelves, chair & desk light, fan & heater, telephone with voicemail, high speed Internet connection and views overlooking the College gardens or UQ ovals. Resident bathroom facilities are conveniently located on each floor close to bedrooms with a ratio of approximately 5 students per toilet and shower. Electrical outlets are fitted in all bathrooms for shavers and hair-dryers. Resident bathrooms are cleaned and replenished daily. Floors are equipped with small kitchenettes containing sinks and hot water jugs for resident use. The College also has a kitchenette facility in the Late Meals Room that contains a microwave, sink, stove-top and oven.
Union College offers all residents 3 wholesome and nutritious meals per day, including on weekends and semester holidays. Meals are served in either the College’s modern dining room or the outdoor terrace, which overlooks the UQ campus and College gardens. The College Games Room is a large indoor recreational space that allows residents to unwind from their academic commitments and socialise with other residents through table tennis, full size billiard pool table, large screen television and Nintendo Wii console. Additionally, an on-site gymnasium is well equipped for personal fitness in a spacious setting with oval views.
