Coronavirus: What do I do if I meant to be moving into student accommodation?

I am meant to be moving into my student accommodation next month, what do I do?

We understand it might seem daunting the prospect of heading to a country or city that is a hotspot for Coronavirus cases. We have worked directly with student accommodation providers to ensure there is flexibility in these unprecedented times. The best option is to contact Student.com, your booking consultant (via email or phone) will have the latest information on policy changes from the student accommodation providers.

I can no longer move into my student accommodation as my local government has stopped travel/my university isn’t teaching at the moment – what do I do?

If your course has been delayed or cancelled, or your local government is banning travel, have this information to hand to share with the bookings consultant. You can contact the local bookings team via your local phone number on the top right-hand corner of the website.

Can I cancel my student accommodation?

As you have already booked your student accommodation, your legal contract is with your student accommodation provider. We have spoken to all student accommodation providers we work with to encourage them to be flexible with contracts in these unprecedented times. For you, the first step is to get in contact with the Student.com team. We have the latest information on cancellation policies of student accommodation providers around Coronavirus. We are committed to helping you, so where possible we will look to either cancel or change your current bookings move-in dates.

Any other questions? Please contact your bookings consultant directly (via email or telephone), use our 24/7 chat on our website or call your local team on the telephone number listed on the top right-hand corner of the website.
