Life sucks, being a teenager sucks, love, relationships and heartbreak all suck. It all leads to pain in the end so why even bother in the first place? Are we really so niave as to think the facts of life don't apply to us? Sure there are those few moments when everything is great, but just like the roman empire fell all good things must eventually come to an end. What are you left when everything around you comes crashing down? Nothing! Nothing but the memories of good times that will never again be. Why is it human nature to put ourselves through all the anguish that comes along with our emotions? Almost everything we do is driven by this broken promise of eternal happieness. Do we honestly believe that there is this one person out there who is going to sweep us off our feet and make everything in the world right? Come on be serious, all this crap about knights in shining armour, all it is, is B. S. they write in childrens books to lure them into a false sense of security. Kids are growing up with high hopes of one day meeting thier prince charming and living happily ever after. While in all actuallity thier mommy and daddy are getting a divorce becuase daddy was off playing house with mommys best friend. There is no such thing as a happy ending or living happily ever after, don't let yourself be fooled into thinking there is. It's a whole lot easier that way. |
