Why hello there. I'm Heather and I'm 21. My birthday's 31st August. I'm in my final year of university in the UK, studying English Language & Linguistics (major) with Creative Writing (minor). Feel free to chat with me; I don't bite, honest!
I love books. Recently, I haven't been reading 'for fun' enough, and focusing on the textbooks and journal articles I need to read for my course instead. However, it's wonderful getting back into reading, and being able to escape into a whole new world once more. I write my own stories sometimes as well - I've been working on one story since 2009... I really need to get round to finish editing the second draft!
I love music as well. My musical talents are, however, quite limited (I have a decent singing voice). I'll give anything a listen, to be honest. My favourite performer has got to be Amanda Palmer. Her work is incredible (punk cabaret), whether it's solo work, or with the Dresden Dolls, or Grand Theft Orchestra.
I'm not really the type to give a damn what people think of me. I wear my wide variety of silly hats without shame. I will happily sing and dance to the banana song in public. I have appeared as a contestant on a UK TV show (Total Wipeout) and humilated myself, but I loved every minute of it, so hey :p I am who I am and if you don't like me for who I am, then never mind: nobody is liked by everybody. Doing stuff for charity is what I love the most, especially if it involves dressing up. Publicly humiliating myself in the process but hey!
