How do you get your Ex's friends to leave you alone? :( really, I don't want to talk to them.
(15 answers)
Kings83
: Sometimes it depends on what broke you guys up in the first place.to me i will say,you dont have to not talk with them.you have to let everything go with limitations.make them understand you from your own point of view & why you want the distance thing, but with no offence.so that anytime you bomp into each other you could still say hi! & get hi! In return.
ashleybomb2009
: tell them to leave you alone and dont even give them the notion that you even see them
my_bright_pink_star_5609
: you cant really do anything but just tell them, or ignore them and what they say.
madaboutjess
: I only know of one method and it involves a pitching wedge and a buffalo. You really can't do anything except confronting them and saying ":hey, i dont want to talk to you"
Godoflove
: Um, cuss them out or just ignore the hell out of them.
jrock_is_teh_smex
: microwave their cat...
PRIMO
: To flat out tell them. Some people don't take hints.
Isn't it pathetic that I've been a member here for six years?
(19 answers)
Dinhy
: No.
ashleybomb2009
: not really
PRIMO
: If that makes you pathetic then I am beyond that. I've been here for 7.
AshleyBrim
: Nah i have been here for three I just made a new account because I had way to many questions on the other one and didn't feel like erasing them al
getit
: god I've been here longer than that!!!
x0MaRiAx0
: nope. You should feel accomplished that you didnt forget about the site lol
faerie_kisses
: Nooo way. :D I've been here six too.
jrock_is_teh_smex
: nah. i've been on for 7.
boxocereal
: No.
gayguyinsussex
: no i have been on here since 2002
zippy1357
: it'll be 6 for me in Nov.
Not_To_Be_Trifled_With_
: No, not really; it's kinda cool.
madaboutjess
: i beat you by 3 and half months and i think it sort of is pathetic but only for me cause i really dont interact much
kelsoca
: not as pathetic as my seven years!
octobershy
: No I called that loyalty
Have you ever been attracted to someone that looks...lets say for safety's sake, ten years younger than you? Did that disturb you any?
(13 answers)
DisguisedSavior
: Yes, no. It's a part of evolutionary theory - guys prefer younger girls because they look "hot", which is ultimately due to the higher fertility and lower levels of genetic damage to the germ cell line, or so the research suggests. So, in other words, it's au naturale.
ashleybomb2009
: yes, and yes
PRIMO
: Yeah. Girls now a days its hard to decipher a 14 year old from a 23 year old....
AshleyBrim
: not really but my husband is nine years older than i am
getit
: yes and no it didn't
x0MaRiAx0
: Noo. im 16. I dont check out 6 year olds lol
faerie_kisses
: Hah. Sorta. Not ten years, but yeah. He's younger.
Not_To_Be_Trifled_With_
: I've been attracted to 10 years OLDER. Perhaps twenty. :D But, no, I wouldn't be attracted to someone who looks four.
Paintball_Lover
: Yeah I have been. Loved her.
Any advice on turning to something other than alcohol for comfort during nervous times?
(32 answers)
ashleybomb2009
: exercise or your favorite hobby
PRIMO
: a hobby
AshleyBrim
: i talk to people i can trust or 420 it
getit

Paintball_Lover
: Knife.
happy_B0bbles
: Maybe chocolate? Exercise...
jrock_is_teh_smex
: i have a horrible solution so i'd be best not to ask me :]
babiie_blu07
: i write down events that happened during my day to relax
PinkyNotClyde
: music and exercise.. or start up a hobby that requires skill.
boxocereal
: Usually I find something I enjoy doing. It takes my mind off everything.
penpen15
: you could drink virgin drinks.....at least you can imagine you're drinking alcohol.
djhowty
: exercise
madaboutjess
: I turn to music and running. Idk though if you are addicted to booze you might need something strong to pull you away
Maximum18
: i know this may sound stupid, but how about you talk with a real close family member. I would have said friend but they might betray you. Spilling what you said to them to the world when they have a fight with you or vise versa. Unless you are close with one of your friends and know its never going to happen. What works for me is music it helps me a lot.
Lifeguardude
: Taking a quick walk outside works great for me, I also find playing some guitar (only acoustic) or piano very relaxing too.
CaliGirl333
: Exercise is a healthy way to moderate emotions.
PRIMO
: Go to a hobby that you enjoy.
How much alcohol do you think it will take me to get alcohol poisoning?
(31 answers)
ashleybomb2009
: alot
AshleyBrim
: alot
getit
: lots
Paintball_Lover
: A lot.
PinkyNotClyde
: Stay away from the hard stuff.
Lifeguardude
: Not sure for you, but on new year's I think I had 7 drinks, and I bet pushing that up to 10 would have been poisoning for me. I guess it all depends on the person, I never throw up so it all is absorbed.
PRIMO
: Depends on what you drink, body wight, and height.. But to do it fast just drink a pint of everclear.......
Jasmine_Pryor
: um..... idk.... alot more than u drink i ges? jus drink every nite frum 9pm - 3 am i ges..... 4 like 9 years..... if you can handle it.......
chuchu1218
: a lot?
loving_tyler_2005
: If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be drinking.
Devitta
: not to many
MallowFairy
: not as much as you would think. I had a relation die from alcohol posioning from the result of one nights drinking, where he passed out and never woke up again. Dont do it.
mymindkillsme
: i dont want you to even ponder that question vanessa.
JuggaloChick666
: depends on how heavy a drinker you are and how much you weigh
Who else here feels that they don't know the definition of "hottie" enough to accurately post a picture of themselves in a vain attempt to be considered a "hottie"?
(29 answers)
ashleybomb2009
: it depends on youre looks and personality
Not_To_Be_Trifled_With_
: I'd only put joke pictures up; I'm not that self-confident. Some people will just do it by default to get others, I guess.
bubba5995
: i believe that some people need to learn the definition of hottie
Paintball_Lover
: The definition of 'hottie' is determined by the person themselves. Get over yourself.
happy_B0bbles
: Yeah.. Well, personally.. I wouldnt put my real picture on the hotties section.. The idea of some stranger looking upon my picture and rating me out of a 10, would make me feel really stupid..
2481632
: hmmmm, yeah...
PRIMO
: Haha. I know I am not one. That is all I needed to know...
chuchu1218
: sounds logical. I'm not good with logic
JuggaloChick666
: Its all about a personal opinion
WhoYouWantMeToBe
: In my opinion there isn't really a definition to the term "hottie" only numerous connotations that vary from person to person.
chronic[hemp]head
: not a hottie in sight.
mymindkillsme
: i sure as hell dont. but i dont enter in a hotties photo becuz its pointless. regardless, im going to have either people drooling like idiots, or jealous girls saying im ugly to try to improve their ridiculous self esteem. i dont need to be told im hot. this isnt an urge of mine, and im not going to feel better that a screen name has called me hot.. so it must be true! no, only thing that matters is how i feel and think.. and personally, how you think vanessa. everyone else can disappear, becuz they are simply nothing to me. sorry for this little rant, but im feeling sensitive.
jrock_is_teh_smex
: hasnt crossed my mind... until now!

I'm so hyphae, are you? *Snickers* I hope not.
(13 answers)
ashleybomb2009
: nope
2481632
: No. I'm in the kind of "taking some things too literally and being quite sarcastic" mood that freaks people out because they often take me seriously and I don't have the motivation to correct their mistaken impression of me and/or the words I used. This is often enduced by completing long periods of an unenjoyable task. In this instance, the task has been textiles coursework.
zippy1357
: time to go dumb
Paintball_Lover
: What's hyphae?
JuggaloChick666
: no
mymindkillsme
: haha. im in a bit of a cleaning mood actually.
Db7d

Where did all the intelligent questions go? All the people who used to ask them aren't asking them anymore...because they're busy with school!
(22 answers)

faerie_kisses

bubba5995
: sorry too busy with homework to answer
Paintball_Lover
: Possibly.
madaboutjess
: Yup. Now they are either incredibly moronic or just a waste of time
Lifeguardude
: It has been outrageously slow lately..........either we're getting smarter or the younger ones are getting shallower.
Eclipse2003
: Replaced instead by some of the most biased, closed-minded people I have ever encountered.
JuggaloChick666
: damnit
WhoYouWantMeToBe
: Let's hope summer brings intellect. I would also like some better grammar around here. I'm getting tired of questions such as: "LyKe hOw dOeZ U????"
mymindkillsme

gayguyinsussex

And why are you here? Don't tell me it is because your peaks and troughs cancelled out an other probabilities...because frankly we are too massive for that to be an answer that is pleasing.
(17 answers)
2481632
: Most homework is boring.
chuchu1218
: Why must you question my every move?!
WhoYouWantMeToBe
: Maybe I'm not. Who's to say I don't actually exist in another dimension converging with your own for only enough time to answer your questions, huh? Or I simply exist everywhere. Yeah, I'm freaking omniscient. :)
chronic[hemp]head
: its 4am
mymindkillsme

Does Tori Amos melt your butter? Hah
(25 answers)
2481632
: Um, no. A human being has never done that for me, it's usually heat conduction- and the source is usually electrical, sometimes hot water which has been heated using an electrical appliance, but never body heat.

What is the traditional formatting of an English Sonnet (stanzas, lines, and rhyme scheme)?
(13 answers)
2481632

mickyminks

In your opinion, what caused tribal societies to transform into imperial societies? What caused the change of an equinanamous cultural system to an unbalanced classism?
(14 answers)
2481632
: Evolution and natural selection are probably right at the root of it (?)
kelsoca
: It's because of food surplus, usually through agricultural production. As soon as everyone in a given society wasn't spending 100% of their time looking for / hunting food, they had time to take up different activities. Pottery, smithing, quasi-scholarly pursuits, forming civic societies, that kind of thing. And as soon as you've got two sets of people with one set doing things perceived as more valuable (ie. NOT gathering food -- and hence lending to greater power and prestige), you've got a class system in the making. I'm not "for" class or anything, but I really feel like they're just the natural outgrowth of us humans not running around hunting mammoths in loincloths anymore.
Db7d
: they became smarter, same thing
just_a_punk_chic
: I think you've answered this in your head already..
djhowty
: according to jared diamond, it was because of the resources availible to them in the forms of the various types of of food and large animals in their area—not because of their "intelligence" at all
coolkid19878
: Advances in technology
coolkid19878
: Advances in technology
Eclipse2003
: I think you use long words to appear more intelligent than the people you can expect to answer perhaps hoping to impress people, that tends to be the way anyway.
Rivergem
: Well, you have a bs way of asking questions but I think it was probably agriculture that did it.

Have you ever felt that intellectualism has lowered your satisfaction in life? As an intellectualist, or as an anti-intellectualist?
(16 answers)
2481632
: Of course. I think most things seem to lower satisfaction in life at some point during it, even if just for a tiny bit.
CaliGirl333
: Socially, being intellectual can be a drag, so I guess there have been times that may have been my feeling, but never my belief.
Db7d
: yep
just_a_punk_chic
: I'm pretty stupid so, I'm not sure. But sometimes I do see things and think, "wow, how dumb.. and now I'm depressed.."
coolkid19878
: Well I'm not the one to judge if I'm an intellectualist or not (that's for others to decide), but I do believe that if you read a lot, you do have a better understanding of the world's problems which can be very depressing, it also causes one to ponder on questions that can't possibly be answered

Devitta

mymindkillsme

madaboutjess

Lifeguardude
: Yes, I thought it was excellent. Great music, intriguing story along with strange and interesting characters.
Eclipse2003
: I thought it was a really good movie, first time in years Natalie Portman gave something resembling a peformance.
mymindkillsme
: despite popular belief, i thought garden state was beautifully written. i quite enjoyed the movie, and i loved the actors as well. i thought they really helped make the movie. zach braff is of the sweetest faces, and lovely natalie portman portrays her character dead on. i thought they made for an adorable couple, and an even better film.

But it was by far the best movie I went to see last year in the theaters... The album kicks ass too
rogue_nymph
: i just rented it. youngneil is right, the soundtrack kicks ass. i actually bought the soundtrack before i saw the movie. but anyhow, the movie was alright but overall i wasn't very impressed with it. i didnt like the couple in it because they weren't believable. in real life they would never work together. i think she was too immature for him.

Anyone into Duke Ellington and the band? If so, why?
(12 answers)
Lifeguardude
: Definitely. I played quite a lot of his music in high school. Once you get past the standard charts he has so much amazing, groundbreaking music. Almost everything he did was new for its time.
CaliGirl333
: The previous answers to this question sort of disgust me. Duke Ellington was a musical genius, because he did things no one else had done and that people to this day do because of him. If there's anything by him I don't like, it's because I haven't yet learned to appreciate him. It's like asking if anyone likes beethoven's orchestra and hearing, "yeah, i liked a few of their performances" besides the fact they weren't recorded. And if you haven't heard of him, it's not because you live in England, it's because you're musically uncultured. </rant>
Db7d

abercrombieaddict

binded_liquid_tears

madaboutjess

au_skye

: "the facts speak for themselves" - brock cole. it changed my life. for once i felt like someone understood what i did, becuz she had been through it. her mom neglects her, and leaves her to take care of all the situations. she is only thirteen and takes care of her two younger brother. provides them with dinner, takes them to school.. she basically takes her mothers responsibilities. shes raped, and molested by her mothers coworker. she is involved in a murder, and suicide of another. it is a truly horrific story line, but one that i know very well. its relatively close to my own life, and i feel like brock cole wrote this just for me. as ridiculous as that sounds.

Moominsummermadness
: Well, in terms of being a part of a good piece of writing, I suppose if they're used occasionally then they might have a positive impact. But using them every other sentence starts to get a bit tedious for the reader
