APA, MLA or chicago?
(12 answers)
Dinhy
: I don't know.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Donno.
faerie_kisses
: APA
deww
: I don't know all of that :/
ololangel2006
: APA
intermission
: I've always been told to use MLA.
SmartJock
: Chicago
boxocereal
: MLA.
classyfied
: MLA.
PRIMO
: APA or MLA. those are the two I used the most. I don't think I've ever used chicago.
what's your favorite constitutional amendment from the bill of rights?
(20 answers)
boxocereal
: No favorite.
sargent_froggie
: I plead the fifth... But the right to bear arms is quite handy.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Now, that I have found out I didn't read this entire question, I pretty much look like an idiot below. But that's all good. My fave amendment from the BILL OF RIGHTS is the 8th: No cruel and unusual punishment.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: 14th. Equal protection under law and due process of law.
EmoLuver
: sorry i spelt beer wrong!!!
EmoLuver
: 5th..and i can't remember it';s number but the first one about bear,, where it made it illeagal to drink... i wish they would've kept it like that!!
ololangel2006
: 5th :P
SmartJock
: I take the fifth...
PRIMO
: 1st
puppet_show
: Sorry, I don't keep up with important documents of that nature
Baby_Face69
: The second.
djhowty
: 1st, but i like the 20th too.
MandyLee
: 2nd baby! : P
SBG_Writer9289
: I'd rather just burn it and rewrite it
KaylaFierce
: i'd have to say the 1st amendment and the 4th amendment. I wouldnt want the government to just randomly search my place for no reason. But i love them all, i love the entire constitution. Its a wonderful thing
chuchu1218
: The freedom of speech? Gotta say, I love that.
are you winning?
(31 answers)
Dinhy
: No.
sargent_froggie
: Define the rules of the game and the measuer of success and I will tell you.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Nope.
deww
: no at the moment
ololangel2006
: you tell me.
Fullmetal_Girl
: I just lost the game
Paintball_Lover
: Winning what?
PRIMO
: At some things...
puppet_show
: U tell me
ashliidown4life
: with taking over the world no but at monopoly hell yea
djhowty
: it's a toss-up
Eclipse2003
: Ahh you make tactical retreats and launch some audacious counter-attacks, it's all apart of my master plan. Swings and roundabouts.
BreeMcKay
: hells yes. where's my prize?
faerie_kisses
: nah
Cappucino
: Damn, no...
twinphoenix222
: No, my headache is kicking my @ss!
KaylaFierce
: i'm playing medal of honor and i seem to be winning...oh **** never mind. I just died, that's what i get for playing with one hand and using the other for typing :)
Panopticon
: Better belive it.
heyhannah
: well i'm playing a game of solitaire right now and i seem to be winning.
RangerTed6
: not lately
tuggy
: No, but the grapefruit is winning.
boxocereal
: No.
love_sick_poem
: no..... :*(
Eclipse2003
: Getting cold-decked left and right so no, not right now.
Savvyanna
: Seeing as I'm not playing... no
what colour is your mood right now?
(39 answers)
boxocereal
: None.
sargent_froggie
: A decidedly opaque hazy green-brown.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: I don't combine colors with moods. I'm just a happy person.
EmoLuver
: i don't know.. how bout yellow?
deww
: grey, between black and white
ololangel2006
: the color tired and grumpy would be
Paintball_Lover
: White.
puppet_show
: Pink
divinepf
: orange
BreeMcKay
: Swirly rainbow. But more opaqueish and muted, like watercolors.
faerie_kisses
: blue
Actress_Star
: mood*
Actress_Star
: oh. I have a modd ring! It's blue.
twinphoenix222
: I haven't a clue...I'm not really in any particular 'mood', I'm just spacey...Do they have a color for blankness?
confuzzled24-7
: like a nasty green
LazyAngel
: About vomit coloured, probably. Haha I don't feel that bad.
hockeygrl23
: redish/blueish/greenish/pink (sick, feverish, but still vibrant!)
SBG_Writer9289
: black
JaRuleG16
: blue
RangerTed6
: grey'd shade of blue
kaylee_mae
: aqua
xSealedLove08x
: greyish im in the middle of everything
lil_pootz_gurl85
: i'd say kinda a neon green with purple strips here and there with hot pink poka dots!
jrock_is_teh_smex
: blinding silver
_KandyKorn_
: Technicolor!
Psycholady
: Baby blue
SBG_Writer9289
: orange
are you pro-beard or anti-beard?
(42 answers)
loving_tyler_2005
: pro-choice... haha :)
sargent_froggie
: Pro facial hair, depends on the person as to whether a proper beard is flattering.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: I'm pro goatees.
deww
: depends on the man
ololangel2006
: pro
SmartJock
: anti
puppet_show
: ANTI!!!
Sue_me
: ati mustache ewww i hate those, pro beard, and pro goatee
Eclipse2003
: I have no clue what I was babbling about there, seriously.
KaylaFierce
: anti beard, especially since i date chicks
chuchu1218
: I don't like them. Only if they're light, like whiskers.
Eclipse2003
: So yeah pro-beard.
Eclipse2003
: Mens beards tend to be longer than even the hairiest womans, so pro-beard = Sexist and possibly racist woman-hater.
faerie_kisses
: Neither, I don't really care.
twinphoenix222
: I don't like moustaches, either! I meant to say I'm also anti-moustache, lol, oops.
twinphoenix222
: I don't mind a goatee, but anything longer or thicker is anti-beard. I'm also anti-beard, as well, for most men. I'm just not really one for facial hair, though it DOES look good on some people! I don't mind the '5 o'clock shadow' as some people call it...I guess I'd have to judge by the person and whether or not they look good with facial hair...
custodianofanarchy
: Im pro-beard, but anti-mustache.
heyhannah
: i like the 5 oclock shadow, but i'm not into the 2 feet hanging down the chin thing like santa claus, but with color.
LazyAngel
: Anti, generally. Especially on myself.
LazyAngel
: Anti, generally. Especially on myself.
dcj2004acc
: i'd rather not wear a beard
JaRuleG16
: depends on if it fits the man.
RangerTed6
: I like having a beard, but as for other ppl it depends.
amor102
: semi-pro beard
AE_sweetie19
: it depends if he can pull it off or not
boxocereal
: Ugh .. I don't like them at all.
djhowty
: depends on the man.
SBG_Writer9289
: which sounds a bit contradicting
SBG_Writer9289
: pro beard. but it has to fit the man.
penpen15
: semi-pro. as long as it doesnt scratch my skin during make out times .Though sometimes that makes it feel more pleasurable. i'm 50-50.
_KandyKorn_
: Depends on how big the beard is.
what's keeping you from your dreams?
(39 answers)
boxocereal
: Fear.
sargent_froggie
: A lack of money for certain dreams, the rest I am living the best I can.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Nothing.
deww
: I'm human, motivation, myself, my family
ololangel2006
: nothing except myself which makes me a pain in my own ass
Sue_me
: nothing. or maybe myself sometimes
divinepf
: motivation
MandyLee
: insomnia
chuchu1218
: age?
faerie_kisses
: money, time, and math skills
Cappucino
: Time.
twinphoenix222
: Definitely me, and lack of cash and car! Plus, I'm really just not motivated enough!
confuzzled24-7
: well i'm still not sure what they are, so i guess that's holding me up a little
JaRuleG16
: myself.. idk if going back to school is right for me..
amor102
: me
AE_sweetie19
: my age im to young to do what i want
Psycholady
: Myself, money and the uncertainty of which way to go
_KandyKorn_
: My procrastination.
xSealedLove08x
: my age, i cant go out and do what i want to yet.
Angel2Devil2Friend
: No one
alex_nick
: laziness
Angel2Devil2Friend
: School
alex_nick
: another year and a half in school
Invader_Tech
: a dream forum.
Archaeologist
: At the moment....nothing.
Angeldevilfriend
: Reality
what concerns you more, the process of dying or the state of being dead?
(42 answers)
loving_tyler_2005
: state of being dead.. for sure.
sargent_froggie
: IN all honesty, neither. Life is a path, death a destination.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Neither.
EmoLuver
: neither, more about how my death would affect my loved ones
deww
: state of being dead. the world is just temperorary
ololangel2006
: neither really. Just another trial to overcome to move on to my next state of reality
divinepf
: the process. i don't like pain
Eclipse2003
: The process.
BreeMcKay
: the process. We basically are continually in the process of dying right now in time.
Cappucino
: The process. However, it concerns me very little.
twinphoenix222
: The process. I'm not scared of being dead, I'm just scared of dying, if that makes sense. I don't want to be in pain while I'm dying, I want to go peacefully.
SBG_Writer9289
: neither
JaRuleG16
: process
AE_sweetie19
: process i want it to be painless and quick when i die preferably in my sleep
Steph_2088
: both. i want to die quickly. and the state of being dead scares me . we can longer feel. that worries me. no more me and i'm not even aware of it. i believe in an afterlife though so hopefully that's something
Psycholady
: The process, I worry about if it will be a natural death years from now or if it will be soon, sudden and painful
_KandyKorn_
: Both. I don't like the thought of me dying at all at the moment.
alex_nick
: the process
alex_nick
: the process
Angel2Devil2Friend
: The process of dying
boxocereal
: Process.
Archaeologist
: Neither.
Angeldevilfriend
: The process
Rivergem
: The process. After I'm dead, there's not a lot I can do about it is there?
stacious
: Well we are constantly in the process of dying. We are never fully alive sir, we are dying the minute we are born. So 'life' doesn't scare me. But neither does not-existing... there is no afterlife to fear and nothing is not scary because you wont 'be' to be afraid during it.
angelsdevilgurl
: dying I guess
greenhouse gasses are just in our imagination, right?
(21 answers)
boxocereal
: No.
sargent_froggie
: Not unless your imagination is located in your bowel.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Keep thinking that. [=
ololangel2006
: lolz
Paintball_Lover
: Yep.
puppet_show
: I guess
faerie_kisses
: I don't think so
Baby_Face69
: wrong. they keep us alive.
Invader_Tech
: considering that we can breathe the putrid gas coming out of exhaust pipes, you'd have to be pretty dumb to think they don't exist.
stacious
: My imagination has been clouded with greenhouse gases since day one.
just_some_idiot
: ah if only
why do you believe?
(28 answers)
boxocereal
: Because I can.
sargent_froggie
: Because I have seen.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: I don't believe.
deww
: because I trust
ololangel2006
: im a theosophist and I believe it
Fullmetal_Girl
: Because if you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything
puppet_show
: Cause of free will
Sue_me
: because i'm human.
faerie_kisses
: Because I can.
twinphoenix222
: To keep sane! If you didn't believe in anything, you'd have no hope or even wishfulness, and your life would be pointless. I have to believe to keep my sanity.
Drytears
: because if I don't believe in something my total existance is pointless
dcj2004acc
: because of the truth I've seen (people, science, God, etc)
xSealedLove08x
: Because thats the only thing that keeps me going. When I believe in myself and in my dreams, that gives me hope. And from hope there springs faith, so I have all three.
Angel2Devil2Friend
: Because I have hope
Invader_Tech
: Because I simply know.
Angeldevilfriend
: Because that's all I can do.
stacious
: They stated what they believe... not why. Rather, I do not believe because... please see spiel # 8 bajillion!
tragicmiracle
: i believe that animal cruelty is rediculous and that its really late so i should go to bed
stacious
: I am going to kick you... frigging you make me mad mister!
in a fight between pirates and ninjas, which group would win?
(40 answers)
boxocereal
: Neither. =)
sargent_froggie
: This is so fail. It depends on the era the pirate is from.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Why is a robot never in these fighting matches?
EmoLuver
: ninjas....only cause they super sneaky
deww
: ninjas
ololangel2006
: ninjas
persis_x
: ninjas
Paintball_Lover
: Pirates.
SmartJock
: ninjas
chuchu1218
: Pirates. Just because I like them better.
faerie_kisses
: ninjas
Actress_Star
: ninjas
twinphoenix222
: IDK...Well, Pirates are cheaters, as you may know with bombs, guns and knives, but Ninjas are fast and stealthy with powerful kicks, punches, knives and whatever else Ninjas have...I'd say Ninjas, probably. But, do you mean pirates in this day and age or pirates like, 1700s pirates? There is a difference in their techniques (not a LARGE difference, but still a difference). IDK!
Porn_flakes304
: NINJAS!!! Im a certified ninja u know? and my sidekick is a squirrel! *Hoyyah!*
RangerTed6
: the only way the pirates could win is if there was lik 10-1 odds
lil_pootz_gurl85
: ninjassssss
_KandyKorn_
: Pirates.
Angeldevilfriend
: Pirates
titat
: ninja baby!
stacious
: Definitely Pat's group, aptly named Pirjas or Nirates... I think.
PYROCLASTIX
: Eh...I'm basically Asian so I'm a bit biased...so ninjas.
cheer_up_emo_kid
: teenage mutan ninja turtles
Profile
: Ninjas. Because thay move like the shadows^.^
Somebody_To_Shove
: Pirates because they could slam the coast line with cannon fire killing all the ninjas and then steal all of their booty and swag.
roseluvtt
: ninjas
green_dragon
: ninjas
last time you exclaimed "great fire of hades!"?
(30 answers)
boxocereal
: Never!
sargent_froggie
: I prefer the overly loud exclamation of "bloody hell!" as a matter of course.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: I've never said that, but I should start. It rolls of the tongue so easily.
deww
: I forget
ololangel2006
: actually like 20 minutes ago. I'm histerical over this question LOL
Fullmetal_Girl
: never, but i do believe it has officially become my new favorite phrase
Paintball_Lover
: Never.
divinepf
: i haven't. ever. but i should more often. and next time i do, i'll let you know
faerie_kisses
: a few minutes ago
twinphoenix222
: Not a clue...Oh, wait. NEVER!
djhowty
: just now when i read this out loud.
penpen15
: that one time when my neighbor's house caught on fire.
_KandyKorn_
: I haven't, but I really want to now!
alex_nick
: i haven't.
alex_nick
: i haven't.
stacious
: Every day of my life.
Oceana
: hah, never like that. but I used to say if people didn't shape up they'd be doomed for Hades
Kairos95
: as a classic student, probably a number of times ^_^
roseluvtt
: never. but i have siad something to the effect of "ain't no way in tartarus" and "what in Hades and tararus"
PRIMO
: I don't think I ever have. Such a deprived life I have lived. I must use this great phrase next time.
finding the pop-culture niche of "non-conformity" to be getting a little irritating?
(24 answers)
boxocereal
: Ehh...whatever is what I say.
sargent_froggie
: Don't even make me start on the fact that there is no non-conformity. If you are non-conformist, you conform the the idea of turning the so-called norm on it's self-sastified head.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Yeah.
djhowty
: never tried it, but it's a little contradicting for those who do. they should just buy an apple.
faerie_kisses
: Yeah, its a total contradiction. I understand not conforming to some things but on the whole to be a non-conformist is just giving in to what you were trying to deviate from originally: conformity.
Eclipse2003
: Yes, it's something that you can't avoid to notice here on SCN. The problem I have with it is that these people seem to think that they are not-conforming with social norms, yet see no contradiction in running into the arms of the most popular sub-cultures of our time. I think a lot of us don't choose to allign ourselves with a certain group of people, that it just comes natural. These people literally choose and thereby consciously conform.
Psycholady
: want*
Psycholady
: Yeah it seems that non-conformity is a group itself. I can understand if people what to be their individual self but it's stupid to go out of your way to not be like anyone else for the sake of "non-conforming"
_KandyKorn_
: A little. Even though people consider me a non-conformist, I just go with the flow. =D
PYROCLASTIX
: "I prefer not to" answer.
Oceana
: oh god, yes
cheer_up_emo_kid
: well its all part of american subcultures and theyre all non conformist anyway so who gives a fu'ck
Kairos95
: agreed with everyone - it's funny how they see the "vast majority" as all these prepackages boring people that just do whatever everyone else does when in fact...they are doing the same just with a VERY slightly smaller crowd
walkingINspiderwebs
: *applauds you for bringing up the subject* I hate it so much lol
JustAnotherFiend
: everyone who says they're a non-conformist are all conformists.
if so many americans are patriotic, why do so few bother to vote?
(28 answers)
boxocereal
: A lot of people vote.
sargent_froggie
: I voted, not that it matters due to the electoral college. And I disagree slightly with omfg. Most people don't do it because they are too lazy, not because they know it doesn't matter. 9 times from ten, if I say the words "electoral college" my response is a blank stare.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Because it's the electoral college that is actually one one whose vote counts. Most of the time they go by the peoples vote, but there was a time when they didn't and a president that the people elected, wasn't elected. So, when it all comes down to it, people say our vote "counts" when technically our vote isn't the final answer.
EmoLuver
: mabey it's because alot of people feel pathetic and think they won't be able to make a change just by casting one little vote and just give ip on elections all together....
ololangel2006
: I'm not very patriotic actually. All I ask is to be allowed to survive in my own private peaceful little world. I dont care what goes on outside of it
BreeMcKay
: Because they are, in fact, retarded.
faerie_kisses
: maybe they see it as pointless and their votes don't matter
heyhannah
: Because most people who run for president arent even worth the time of day, much less waiting in line for hours to vote
SBG_Writer9289
: because there's no point in voting, we're gonna get another george bush and dick cheney anyway
BabyLove814
: cause they are lazy bastards and dont even know what they really beleive in, in the first place.
rising_tide
: because you don't have to?
_KandyKorn_
: Because we're hypocrites~
tragicmiracle
: i hear it's because they want to skip jury duty. because in the U.S. all registered voters have to serve jury duty at some time.
PYROCLASTIX
: Because they are idiots.
Oceana
: that's a good question and it pisses me off. I would have voted if i had been old enough to.
Somebody_To_Shove
: Well, in the last election, neither canidate was worth voting for, one was a red neck, blood thirsty texas boy and the other a false vietnam war hero who's own men testified to this, and he was also a flip floper, never sticking to an issue.
Rivergem
: I don't know.
JustAnotherFiend
: Many people love their country, but not the way their country is run. After all, the people DID vote and Gore won the popular vote (the vote of the people) yet Bush was put into office. It makes voting see rather pointless.
what's the catch?
(21 answers)
sargent_froggie
: that you exist fully without purpose of existence while thinking that you have a destiny.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: You tell me.
Fullmetal_Girl
: Catch? What catch? there is no catch! *looks away suspiciously*
BreeMcKay
: 22! Its 22!
faerie_kisses
: you only have two minutes
love_sick_poem
: u have to gouge out an eyeball.... ur choice on which one... id give my right.
_KandyKorn_
: No catch. All you have to do is give me your credit card number. =D
boxocereal
: lol that's what I always wanna know..
Professional_Dreamer
: you'll only find out when it's most inconvenient :p
Oceana
: it spits at you
weeeee
: your doing it with the French
lineth
: the catch is that there's always a catch
djhowty
: three trout and two salmon
what is more important in the affairs of a society: freedom or stablity?
(25 answers)
boxocereal
: Both.
sargent_froggie
: If it is to remain a society at all, stability.
OhMyFreakingGosh
: Stabilty.
faerie_kisses
: freedom without stability is useless so I say stability
Eclipse2003
: I like to think the driving force behind democracy is to balance stability with freedom, without the rule of law which even if for the better good does restrict freedom, then there would be anarchy, meaning we lose stability and all we have is the freedom to live in an unjust and chaotic world. Nobody with sense wants that IMO, so ideally both are as important as each other and must be balanced.
Angel2Devil2Friend
: Stablity
Professional_Dreamer
: It'd say freedom, because a society without freedom is never stable - eventually people will demmand more rights, imo.
PYROCLASTIX
: Stability...people who believe in complete freedom are idiots.
Oceana
: stability. the majority of our freedoms have already been screwed with
lineth
: stability more than freedom but a sense of freedom is also a necessity
ClaraNova
: it's a balancing act...give up some freedom so that you know your country will be there tomarrow...and give up some stability for freedom
JustAnotherFiend
: stability.
pinklionness
: both
Ataraxia
: stability, but of course there shouldn't be an extremity (sp?) of either
djhowty
: freedom
so what do I do with a useless undergraduate degree anyway?
(18 answers)
boxocereal
: Hmm..
sargent_froggie
: Not a lot. What do I do with a high IQ and having to work so much that I had to drop out of highschool?
SmartJock
: go to grad school!
faerie_kisses
: get a job
RangerTed6
: use it as youwould newspapers to help start a fire
_KandyKorn_
: Jeez, what CAN'T you do with it? You can take it to parks, buy it icecream...though there's no guarantee that it'll EAT the icecram...
stacious
: I discovered that I am actually going to be getting my masters after all of this... I am wicked cool!
Oceana
: shove it in people's faces and laugh at the world.
lineth
: humans are stupid.....they love papers with junk like that on it so knowing society as it is with enough bull**** you should get a high paying job quick
ClaraNova
: go to grad school
Ataraxia
: get a job i guess
gayguyinsussex
: nothing
what's your favorite logical fallacy?
(7 answers)
boxocereal
: Hmm..
sargent_froggie
: Lawyers.
Eclipse2003
: I like the gamblers fallacy. In roulette it's come black 10 times in a row, therefore the chances of it coming red next time must be 10 times as likely. Some people can't tell the difference between the odds of something which is statistically 50-50 like heads and tails, landing as heads 10 times in a row and the odds of it coming heads or tails the 11th individual time, again 50-50. The liklihood of something happening based on past results interms of flipping a coin never change.
Professional_Dreamer
: A man running away from an arrow will never be hit by it: every time the arrow reaches the place the man was, the man will have moved a little further.
essay, short answer or multiple choice?
(42 answers)
boxocereal
: All are equally evil.
sargent_froggie
: short answer. essay if it is a provacative question or one that requires you to state an opinion.
EmoLuver
: multiple choice... that way one of the choices might jog my memory if i stare at it long enough
deww
: MC
faerie_kisses
: short answer
Cappucino
: Multiple choice.
Actress_Star
: multiple choice
twinphoenix222
: Multiple Choice, of course! It's faster when you don't know the answer and you just want to get the hell out of the class. With Essays and Short Answers you still have to explain things and there is some thinking involved. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a fair student, but sometimes, tests are just way too lame and boring (and LONG) and you try your hardest through perhaps the first half, but then give up through the second half...I'M not making any sense, lol...
confuzzled24-7
: multiple choice
Psycholady
: Multiple choice, because you usually have a 1 in 4 chance of getting it right. I HATE essays with a passion. Too much writing
jrock_is_teh_smex
: short answer or essay. multiple choice is horrible in college
_KandyKorn_
: Multiple choice. I like have choices in life.
titat
: multiple choice
PYROCLASTIX
: Multiple choice...I know the odds of doing well or not so well and you have no idea how well I do with these things...
mentleblonde
: short answer- allows u to make ur point and get it across without dwelling on the subject
Oceana
: multiple choice
angelsdevilgurl
: multiple choice definately
ClaraNova
: a mix of short answer and multiple choice
djhowty
: multiple choice. i rock at that.
JaRuleG16
: MC.. it rocks when u dont have time to study.. n have no idea what is going on.. u have at least some chance at getting it right.. :)
cadet408
: multiple choice. where's the fun in an easy essay?
mostmagnificient
: depends on the subject
JustAnotherFiend
: i like essays they give me a chance to explain my reasoning.
any wars you won't be particularly proud to remember this remembrance day?
(14 answers)
boxocereal
: Hmm..
sargent_froggie
: personal ones, but that is not what the day is for.
SBG_Writer9289
: the current war

what do you mean to yourself?
(10 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't know.
loving_tyler_2005
: Haha.. interesting. Well, a lot. Not because I am self-centered, but because I am pretty much what has gotten me through all the tough times in life. If you can't believe in yourself, what can you believe in?
sargent_froggie
: Nothing. I'm as good or as useless as everyone else, I am not a unique snowflake, but I'm here for the ride.
EmoLuver
: to be honest, i've never really thought about it... i'm not really sure if i mean anything to myself.... looks like i have a lot of thinking to do now..
Oceana
: I try to accomplish as much as I can and meet as many people as I can, that way when I die I'll be remembered.

boxocereal
: Fun and pleasure.
sargent_froggie
: an expression of love

SBG_Writer9289
: but porn does not count
SBG_Writer9289
: Explicit love
Drytears
: a healthy way to deal with all of life's frustration
Psycholady
: A really fun and pleasurable way to express your love... or a quick way to "get off" if that's your thing
jrock_is_teh_smex
: it is a gender. female or male
Oceana
: it's when i can be completely connected with my boyfriend in a higher level, knowing that he loves me
roseluvtt
: nothing if its with somebody i don't really care about. (fortunately, currently, that's not the case)
phig
: Penis + Vagina. Everything else is circumstantial.

would you disown the person you loved if they wanted to move to iceland on a whim, or would you go with them?
(19 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't know.
sargent_froggie
: I would follow him to the ends of the earth.
EmoLuver
: why would i disown them? all they did was move? though i wouldn't want to go with them either...
BreeMcKay
: I periodically debate moving to an icelandic-like country.
KaylaFierce
: if i loved them i wouldnt disown them. I probably wouldnt go with them because i have a two year lease on my apartment and i cant afford to break it...haha. But i wouldnt disown them, that's a bit harsh.
logomaniac
: probably go with them
SBG_Writer9289
: I'd go with them. It'd be fun to try somewhere new
Oceana
: i would try to go with them
Ataraxia

sargent_froggie
: There are no words... he is just beyond my descriptive ability.
logomaniac
: Because he is an amazing person who has goals and dreams, as well as the initiative to reach for them. Because he has an awesome sense of humor and a wonderfully rich personality. Because waking up in his arms is the best place to be. Because he has been there through everything, especially my dad's death.
Psycholady
: Because we are completely compatible and we feel deeply connected with each other
Oceana
: i don't know why i love him. because he tells everyday how much he loves me and can look at me without makeup, bed head, a pimple, with my glasses on, and still tell me that i'm beautiful
SxyMegg06

did your parents read to you as a young child? what are your attitudes towards reading here and now?
(22 answers)
boxocereal
: Yes.
sargent_froggie
: Yes, my mother did. I love to read, it is something that sustains me.
MandyLee
: no, they didn't. i love to read. im a total nerd. there was a lot of sibling rivalry. my sis is 19 months older than me, and i also followed her curriculum, (otherwise i felt lesser than her) and it pushed me ahead in school.
BreeMcKay
: I love to read, although I guess I would have to say it honestly depends on the material. For example, my music textbook makes me wish I were illiterate because maybe then I wouldn't be forced to read it for class.
Cappucino
: Yes, I love reading. I think all kids should be read to.
logomaniac

PRIMO
: Nope. I was never read to.
kanga_roo
: Yeah my mom read the Shel Silverstein(sp?) books to me and probably some other books I don't remember. I do think it's a good thing. It helps the parents bond with their children I think and It may have an influence on their reading skills too. Though I'm not sure. But it certainly can't hurt.
mikeseavers_gurl
: My mom and I used to do Where's Waldo? and I could find him on every page by memory by age 2. I used to love to read and still do.

UKStyle

Vampire_Fox

should judges be elected to their positions, or appointed?
(18 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't care.
sargent_froggie
: a pool of possibilities should be selected by popular vote and the judge appointed from that pool.
SBG_Writer9289
: but only after a thorough background check
SBG_Writer9289
: elected.
Oceana
: elected
JustAnotherFiend
: elected.
Rivergem

LovableLoser

punky_tiger

do you think it's possible to fall in love over vast distances?

Psycholady
: It happened to me and we're married now
UKStyle

LovableLoser
: Yeah, but it might be hard to stay in love that way.
bafflemenot603

punky_tiger

-izzy-
: possible, but improbable.....people portray themselves differently online, so you never know whether you're falling in love with the real person. if both parties are completely genuine with one another, they could definitely fall in love
mikedude03
: meh... it's much more possible to fall out of love over vast distances... i should know...
Whatsifsowhatsit

are you for or against black people? (about the same as asking 'are you for or against homosexuality?')
(36 answers)
boxocereal
: Wtf..
puppet_show
: I don't have nothing against black people as a whole. I don't let race determine how I feel about a person. Also I feel the same as SBG_Writer9289. What kinda question is this?
Eclipse2003
: Haha what a brilliant question, absolutely 100% certain to get muppets who take it way too seriously.
logomaniac
: I like what -izzy- wrote...
SBG_Writer9289
: What kind of a sh*t question is that?
Oceana
: oh, I'm very much for both.
Ataraxia
: actually, it's not the same thing as asking for/against homosexuality...you're comparing a sexuality and a group of people? so you're saying people ARE sexuality? anywhooo...i'm totally for. it's close-minded to discriminate according to race
UKStyle
: Against, big time.
Rivergem
: I know and yes, I am neither racist nor homophobic.
Maeve1723
: i'm white and straight but i don't care if your the "devil" so long as you're decent to me.
bafflemenot603
: fuck, a person's a person, whats the difference? Its whether their personality is more like what is associated with a certain race or what not.
jones_soda69
: we are all the same
punky_tiger
: why does it matter but anyways i'm for them, i love everybody.. unless they dont like me lol then i dont like that person but yea, do u like blue people?
-izzy-
: *shrug* people are people.........doesn't matter what color we're painted OR who we're doing :P
mikedude03
: I'm not 'for' or 'against' any race or creed or orientation... it's all the same in my book
Whatsifsowhatsit
: No I hate it when ppl are being racists... hating homosexuals is racism too, I don't care what you say! (LOL can't even ask a question about blacks without homosexuals popping up nowadays :S) just because you're TOLD they are by other people, doesn't mean they ARE sinners. I hate this discussion but I feel like I should start it each time... so tag me if you think homosexuals are sinners... sorry kelsoca
ghetto_gangsta_baby

Eclipse2003

logomaniac
: Global warming is natural- but there are things we can do to help our planet.
Oceana

djhowty

UKStyle

Rivergem

mikedude03
: god damn liberal panicmongers! back in my day, the world was so cold we'd be glad if it would heat up a degree or two a year! Besides, I'll be dead before anything *serious* comes of it. /sarcasm
PabloHibiki
: The problem I don't understand is many levels of global warming are natural. None of the teachers explained if any current global warming is a climate correction for long periods of global cooling.
DecemberRose
: Here's the thing--the planet's temperature fluctuates. There was the Ice Age, and then it got hot during the Medieval period, followed by a "mini-Ice Age," and it started to warm up again around the time of the Industrial Revolution. It's a natural occurrence.
jax_juice
: last night i read about an island that completely disapeared because of the global warming. in my country, we can feel the heat going up every year in the summer. and iam not lying when i say we reached the 48 degrees celsius right now.
invader_tech

invader_tech
: nope, over the past few decades they've been doing tests that prove that the earth's average temp is going up slightly every year
is it just me, or does anyone with "hot", "cute" or "sexy" in their SC name dealing with serious overcompensation issues?
(31 answers)
boxocereal

sargent_froggie
: I think they have a need for constant validation from outside sources and they view this as a way to gain acceptance.
BreeMcKay
: I don't know. They just make me puke a little in my mouth.
logomaniac
: haha yes, I think it is very funny actually- simply because they couldn't come up with anything more original.
SBG_Writer9289
: Maybe they just want someone's opinions. And why do you care so much? It doesn't apply to you
Psycholady
: Totally agree!
Oceana

Ataraxia
: more likely they couldn't think of a better screenname...poor things...but yeah, those are stupid things to put in one.
JustAnotherFiend

anyone else find it interesting that all the right wing fanatics that are fervently opposed to the "pro-choice" movement, are also in favor of the death penalty?
(27 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't care.
custodianofanarchy
: I find it funny that the "Pro-Lifers" find it okay to shoot abortionists. "We will save the fetus, but if it grows to be a doctor, we just might have to kill it!" Bullsh*t
MandyLee
: im very strongly opposed to the "pro-choice" movement, and im also against the death penalty. The death penalty is nothing but a bunch of little bully district attornies trying to get an 100% conviction rate.
Eclipse2003
: anything*
Eclipse2003
: I cannot believe she quoted scripture, does consistancy count for nothing anymore?
logomaniac
: I'm against both
SBG_Writer9289
: I don't believe in the death penalty. I know I say some people deserve to die for their crimes but in reality no one deserves to die and it violates the commandment "thou shalt not kill." Give them life in prison, it is so much more painful to die alone with no one love you or hold you.
Oceana
: hahah. I have noticed that.
Ataraxia
: i don't know. i'm against both.
LovableLoser
: That's true.
Maeve1723
: i guess they think that people have to earn their deaths
Vampire_Fox
: That is very interesting.... but oh well, what can ya do?
DecemberRose
: I do find that interesting.
comrade_stol
: well wat can u expect? theyre right wingers! and btw ganzgoober, the death penalty doesnt in any wya fuking control the population!! a fwe dead ppl a year, yeah that ll really make a difference to the 230 million or so strong population (im talking in terms of numbers here, not emotional and so on...) bla bla bla
GodSaveTheUSA
: Hahah yes, it's hypocrisy at its greatest for ya. I'm pro-life. And prolife doesnt only stand for abortion, its also works with the death penalty.
kanga_roo
: Uh... soldier... it doesn't quite work the same the other way around. Sorry. And yeah I find that really stupid. I'm like ganz, I'm for both choice and death. I like how they put it too! Pro-population-control!
djej2003

ganzgoober
: I'm pro-population-control. Pro-Choice. Pro-Death-Penalty.
socialdecay

soldierman
: I think it's even funnier that the dems are prochoice against a child who is just being born, but for saving a convicted criminal.
sugar_2004
: I didn't finish oops. I was going to put "though" at the end and also say that the people who are fanatics are also ones who blow up clinics which is no better. But Abortion is VERY wrong but I'm not going to go into it cuz that wasn't the question.
sugar_2004
: Well it is kinda funny, but I am a little for the death penelty but would rather see someone suffer in prison (even though i wouldn't call prison suffering anymore) but i am EXTREMELY prolife. You made a good point!
Luckythe8th
: I'm pro-choice and pro-death penalty... but then again, I don't consider myself a rightwing fanatic. But you have to look at it from like a morality standpoint, though it doesn't make much sense. They believe that abortion is wrong because it takes away a life, but the death penalty is right because it's justice, a life for a life. That could be it...
Purple_Princess
: Yeah, I did notice that. It's kind of odd... but then, my opinion on abortion are mingled... very anti-death penalty though.

boxocereal

sargent_froggie
: Yes.
BreeMcKay
: Yar. =/
logomaniac
: Very much so.
SBG_Writer9289
: yeah, it's disgusting. How did the beauty image go from curvacious to thin and sick? And so many young girls and boys are killing themselves to look beautiful, beauty shouldn't be about the size of your clothes.
Oceana
: I hate watching a show that yells at me for being over a size 0.
UKStyle
: No, I'm quite fond of them.
Maeve1723
: absolutely
tara_2289
: well just look at mary-kate olsen I know most guys don't find being skin and bones attractive.
kanga_roo
: Isn't it though!?! Most models are sickeningly thin. And not only that but they are airbrushed to look even THINER! And all these people just buy into all the crap that they throw at us. My mom is even doing it. She's so worried that she's fat and she is even thinner than I am! And I'm not fat. I'm a normal healthy size and I'm very pleased with my figure. I'm proud to say I look like a woman, rather than a 12 year-old boy!
goddess123452003st
: I do. A majority of People have been hypnotized into actually believing that to be "beautiful" one must be a certian height, weight, color, etc. It's truly sickening. If people conform to one specific standard of beauty then we'd all look the same. People should look the way they feel comfortable and the way that makes them happy. One shouldn't let anyone dictate their personal style.

capitalism perpetuates most of the problems in today's society. do you agree with this statment?
(28 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't know.
sargent_froggie
: No, I do not. Political/social economics. To take capitalism from this country suddenly is to unmoor it from it's accepted mindset and set it adrift.
MandyLee
: no. the fundemental building blocks of our society (money, religion, family values ) are so tight-knit that you cant tell where one ends and the other begins. society is wrong. blame whatever you'd like.
logomaniac
: I wouldn't say "most" of the problems, but definitely some.
gayguyinsussex

SBG_Writer9289

behind_blue_eyez

BreeMcKay
: I kind of want California to secede from the nation. And I kinda want to move to the Netherlands or Sweden or Switzerland or some other random little liberal niche. Does that make me unpatriotic?
logomaniac
: That isn't what being patriotic is at all...You can take pride in your country without believing in the institution of your government or lapping up its propaganda.
Ataraxia
: i'm not exactly the most patriotic person to begin with. in fact, i'm seriously considering moving out of the country when i grow up. it's good to have pride in your home country, but some people take it too far and just blindly follow the government

Leah13
: The united states has never led there citizens to think that 1+1=3 , common sense tells us that it equals 2. If you are failing your math class because you do not understand a simple mathematic equation, then you have no right to criticize the united states. The actions of the french government are no more noble then that of our government. Essaye cette manoeuvre: Prendre 50-60 pas en arrière. Prendre plusieurs souffles profonds. Sprinter en avant à toute vitesse. Faire un triple saut périlleux en l'air et disparaître dans ton propre cul.

Is it just me, or is it that everyone that is against gay marriage seems to be a religious fanatic?
(42 answers)
boxocereal
: Yes.
BreeMcKay
: Yeah, I think it must be in the ten commandments or something. "Thou shalt hate"
logomaniac
: I think it would be more appropriate to call them simply fanatics, because their intolerance and blatant ignorance are highly indicative of the absence of religion, not the presence of it.
SBG_Writer9289
: It's not just you. I had a christian woman walk up to me asking if I wanted to be 'cured' because I had lesbian moms.
Psycholady
: That is usually the reason why people would be against gay marriage, because it goes against their religion, not because of any reason that makes sense...

kanga_roo
: So you noticed this too!? So I'm not just totally imagining this? That's really nice to hear.
soldierman
: No however it is easy to see every one as a releigious fenatic if the most vocal are the religious. I am against gay marraiges but for allowing homosexuals to enter into contract. This would allow all the rights of being married, which from what ive heard is all they want. But i will not be a member of a church that sanctions such weddings under god. and as for the statement we all sin so its okay if the gays live in sin, thats rediculous. True Christians do not seek out sin, nor do they try to live in it.
expresstye
: unno they dont read between the lines..like christians..dont believe that gays should be married because god said it is wrong..a sin..but think about it..everyone sin every day of there life.gay or not..and second..god said to love everyone no matter what they do or w/e....im pro gay marriages

: That doesn't mean that all religious people are against gay marriage though. I am christian and I beleive that government has no right to say who gets married and who doesn't, regardless of whether it is right or not.
anti-swastika
: I think anyone should have the ability to do anything, as long as it is not hurtful [ through physical or mental pain] towards anyone. As well.. I am NOT religous.
Woodstock2003
: In addition to what I just said, GBLT's in their own right pay taxes to the government as everyone else but by paying taxes to them its only proving that they discriminate against them. They deserve marriage after they underwent so much discrimination throughout the years.
Woodstock2003
: Based on the onslaught of the media and other mediums--the greater majority of those who are stalwartly against homosexual marriage are those who tend to be enshrouded in the ideologies of Christian fundamentalism or for those who have not emraced diversity-may precipitate to homophobia(via either horrendous experiences or just staying closely with the status quo; they are afraid to embrace change). Contrary to cannological references to homosexuality in the Bible, which alot of these verses are used to discriminate against GBLTs are only referring to cult prostitution back in Biblical times and not referring to relationships between homosexuals. It musn't been a major issue with Christ whatsoever. Homosexuals believe it or not, are humans too and are deserving of the same entititlements as everyone else for as long as they have gone through the necessary proceedures to obtain a liscence and are willing to devote their lives to another. Its all about the love, baby!
Music_rugby_water

Why is it that toasters are equipped with settings that would turn toast into charcoal that no human could possibly consume?
