Are they just snobby? (5 answers)  braddles: Yeah i mean a lot of things don't contradict at all when people think they should. Like witchcraft and christianity, the bible doesn't say it don't exist, it just says its bad if you use it to kill people. And modern science and God don't contradict each other at all. God invented atoms, and electrons. Wtf, how does that prove anything? Things don't contradict. A person's opinions are determined, I would think, by the way their brains process information, by the way they see the world, how MUCH of the world they have actually seen, their influences, their intelligent quotient and so on. Their opinions are only demonstrating what seems right to them. Sadly, though, lots of people, as you have already said, aren't very open to other people's opinions when they should be. Being open to other people's opinions is a way to learn more and to fuel your own opinions. I do think that it's a shame that lots of people think along the lines of 'It's either my way or the highway'. When you're a teenager, your brain begins to develop very, very rapidly, so a lot of times teens don't make the right decisions or act the appropriate way for the given situation. This is actually the cause of the ever-so-famous rebellion stage and the reasons that a lot of teens get in to drinking and drugs. They aren't sure of themselves at all at this stage in life, and this is what makes a lot of them seem stupid. He said one problem is the United States attacked Iraq because it invaded Kuwait but Israel annexes lands from Jordan and the US does nothing. In fact, to some extent, the US supports Israel.  PabloHibiki: It has to do in part with the media. Typically, Americans are ethnocentric people. We don't mean to but the United States is large and full of its own problems so we usually don't concern ourselves with all the world's problems. In Europe for example, the countries are much smaller and closer knit than most states in the US. They rely heavily on each other and the US is largely self suffient except for some resources. The US is a rich country overall and things are cheaper here. Maybe they are jealous or maybe not.
