What do you think about the President accusing Kerry of being a flip-flopper and then recently coming out and saying that he now supports homosexual civil unions?
(8 answers)
StellarStar311
: I think that every politician flip flops....I also think that civil unions are just a wussy way of making everyone happy. Just let them be married. buh
Lindsey374
: For all you who say he doesnt flip flop you need to be like watching the news and doing your research a little more...take off those liberal blinders. He has changed his opinion on this war so many times I lost count about 6 months ago hehe. Also for all you underagers...no offence but your opinion on this really doesnt count and is most likely from your parents or equally ignorant friends.
Lindsey374
: ummm I dont recall Bush ever being against civil unions, in fact most people who are against gay marriage are for civil unions, and are actually pushing the issue to take the focus off of marriage. I dont support gay marriage personally but am 150% for civil unions.
agentorangesrad
: I think it's bullshit. Bush is an idiot
What did you think of the Vice Presidential debate? Intelligent and thought out responses only.

What did you think of the first Presidential debate? Well thought out comments only please.
(1 answers)
agentorangesrad
: I think that through out all 3 of the presidential debate Bush never really answered his questions. He kinda of beat around the bush and turned the question into something totally different. Kerry on he other hand i think that he held him self very well. He's a great speaker. I dont think Bush is a very good debater. Through out the debates me smerked or giggled at Kerry's answers and i dont think that is very professional especially coming from someone who is our president. He doesnt represent the country or the people very well and i think you could see a lot of that just by watching the debates.....PS: The last debate they both were wearing the same tie
With roughly 10^24 stars in the universe do you think intelligent life is out there? If so do you think there is a possibility we'll ever make contact with them? Will such contact be our salvation, destruction, or just old news?
(9 answers)
mysteryguy2002
: I thought it was 10^22? The same number of grains of sand? Well anyways, I'm not really sure if life exists. In the Bible there was a verse that states "I have sheep that are Not of this Flock. I must bring them also." This could point to Extra Terrestial life or something else all together. They may not be in this Universe either so contact may not even be possible. I don't think we will come in contact however. It's just waaaaaaaaay to big.
agentorangesrad
: We are humans in this world and there are so many other species of life out there in only our world and for anyone to think that there isnt life out there in the universe other than what is here is pretty ignorant. Who knows maybe we have already come in contact with other life in the universe but we dont know it. You never really know.
mikedude03
: it's hard for me to personally fathon a universe where we really are the only intelligent life. It seems like a waste of epic proportions, considering we don't appreciate nature and the universe, and the beauty that is existance. If we ever do come accross intelligent life, i hope it will be our salvation, that they can divert us from certain paths we might otherwise race down.
Icy_Fire
: yeh for sure there is other intelligent life out there. i think we'll eventually make contact with them, but not for several hundreds of years i suspect.
elementsktgirl
: I believe there may have been intelligent life at one point in time, but the odds of it existing as of now is extremely slim. I doubt we will ever make contact with an alien species, mostly due to distance and time.
Have you extensively studied other religions beside your own or if non religious have you studied religion at all?
(11 answers)
KittieKat8181
: I don't study them per say others tell me about them. But I know what I am and I don't need religion to tell me that. only my Bible and God.
StellarStar311
: I love studying religions of all kinds and am on the path to finding the "religion" that is right for me....which will probably be one I kinda make up =/
clouded_vision
: yes
Lindsey374
: Not extensively but yeah I have studied it.... even differnt sects of the same faith that I hold.
agentorangesrad
: I am not a religious person in any way. I talk to my boyfriend who is catholic about his religion and i'm always trying to get other peoples opinions on there religions or on religions that they know about like mormonism or christianty but i would really like to take a world religion class just to learn to maybe understand others faith
mikedude03
: outside of a high school class, not really, not extensively.
Icy_Fire
: not exactly extensively, but more than what i've learned in school at least. its really important for ppl to do this, not only to come to terms wkith their religion of choosing, but just to learn about and understand others.
Eowyn_Athena
: Yes I have. When I was coming to the realization that Christianity wasn't for me, but I still believed in God, I studied many different religions to see which one(s) fit me.
Does religion have any place in governmental decisions? Give some decent reasons with your response.
(11 answers)
mysteryguy2002
: I think it does. If it didn't we really wouldn't have any laws prohibiting things. Religious values shapped the whole world society. Most people on earth view Murder as wrong? Who decides this if there is no religion?
KittieKat8181
: i don't think government should focus on religious issues (1st amendment right) they should focus what is best fro the country. I am against gay marriage so I'd like that to be constitutionalized. Bush....don't get me started there. he's doing some things right but....
clouded_vision
: no...the government should focus on protecting people and property in law-making, not making moral decisions on the people's behalf.
Lindsey374
: I think that as far as making laws because of certain religions no but to say that someones religious views wont sway thee polotics is absurd. Our views of religion whether we have one or not shape everything that we are. For instance an athiest believe when we die, we die, so they may tend to be more careful in there decisions, while a christian may tend to live more carefree because they believe there is an afterlife (justr a generic example of cours enot true in all people) but your religious views greatly shape you as a person whether you like it or not...which means it molds our decisions which means polotics will always be affected by religion. Also if you studey the seperation of church and state and why it was ended you will be very suprised to see that it wasnt put there to completly take religion out but rather to protect the church from the government intruding onto what they teach and from the govrnment declaring everyone must be the same religion.... dont beleive me look it up, but as you can see today we twist its purpose a lot.
agentorangesrad
: No it doesnt. I'm going to use the US as an example because i live here. Our country is being ran by a Christian president and a lot of desicions that he makes reflect on his religion......i dont think he's heard of seperation between church and state. This country is a country filled with many people of many religions and i believe that we need a president that is going to fill the needs of everyone not only the religion that president is. represent all religions and all the people.
mikedude03
: no... there are lots of reasons. Formost being that it is written like that in our constitution, and for good reason. Religion elicits too much passion and emotion; the handling of government should be done logically and reasonably.
Icy_Fire
: definitely not, because there are way too many different types of ppl of different backgrounds and religions in any country in the world. if a government uses religion in everyday decision-making, then they would need to consider all the religions to make it fair, and thats just not plausible. religion in politics and government causes way too many trouble, and it never works out, so its best kept out.
elementsktgirl
: When it comes to morally based issues, religion should have little influence, However, politicians should consider the ideas/beliefs of some major ethnic groups to preserve peace and what not...
what would you rather lose, your life or your freedom?

elementsktgirl

What do you think of the recent supreme court ruling that it is unconstitutional to not allow the prisioners of guantanamo bay due process of law?
(3 answers)
mikedude03
: i agree completely. Nothing justifies the denial of basic human rights to anybody... if they deserve punishment, so be it, they will get what they deserve in due time, but not at the expense of our nation's soul.
Icy_Fire
: it's great. although the prisoners arent americans and therefore have no guarantee of rights that american citizens have, the bill of rights are basic human rights, and according to the bill of righs, the prisoners do have a right to fair and speedy trial and all that.
Have you seen Fahrenheit 9/11? If so, what did you think of it? If not, do you plan on seeing it?
(7 answers)
agentorangesrad
: I think it was a very well thought out documentary that any American should see whether you agree on the facts of the movie. I think it's any americans responsiblity to see it. It's a great film and very ballsie of michael moore to make. The things he speaks of and the information that he gives out is things that have been lingering for years not just with 9-11 situations. He shows that the goverment is really like. People are so one sided they think that our country is so great...it is great but our goverment is so false and hypocritically and it shows that a lot in the film. Those things i witness were always theories of mine but by seeing that movie i was proved correct
mikedude03
: I saw it... it's hard to take it completely at face value, but there is a lot of valuable information in it.
dxpsman
: I plan to see it, as I'd like to see what the liberals are cookin up
freeagent94
: i hate micheal moore

Is bush a good president? Why or why not?
(4 answers)
mikedude03
: No... his priorities, in my opinion, are misplaced. We have so many problems at home that we need to take care of before we even think about playing cops and robbers with the world.
dxpsman
: Bush is a decent, upright human being. However, he is incompetent. So, no, he's not a good President, even though I'm republican.

Pro Choice or Pro Life and why?
(10 answers)
KittieKat8181
: and only if it is jeopardizing the woman's health.
KittieKat8181
: Pro life. rape is an exception. I agree with jimmyurine on the birth control issue. Most pregnancies are becasue some chick wanted to fit in and was stupid and didn't use protection becasue she was drunk off her duck. People like that deserve no pity. Plus, you are killing innocent life for your own stupidity. to quote jimmyurine "keep you Jimmy Deams to yourself" and wait until you are phisically and mentally prepared to bring a human life into this world.
clouded_vision
: pro-life morally, pro-choice politically
Lindsey374
: I am not against choice, but I am not for the government protecting that choice. For instance if I were to kill you I would go to jail... not true if I want to kill my baby. We all have the right to choose but the government removing laws for bad choices puzzles me.
agentorangesrad
: choice. there are so many reasons why it's so overwhelming why i am pro choice
deleted
: Choice..I think a woman should have the option of choosing. You see,a man don't have to ever worry about that as long as he's living..I also believe that everybody chooses their own life before they are born and so if they die before they are born they weren't supposed to be alive..And I certainly think it's nonsense that I heard they are taking away birth-control prescription..because they think it's worse than abortion itself..LMAO. They actually think that it kills the child even though it's not born through the speracide..Ay..fools.
Eowyn_Athena
: Your stupid. Abortion is not murder. Murder is defined as ILLEGAL killing. Abortion is not illegal in the US, therefore it is not murder. I know murder makes it sound more snazzy and terrible, but killing will suffice. Anyway, I think that abortion, in most cases is a no-no. It's not even about the baby so much, but it's about taking responsibility for your choices. If you choose to have sex, you HAVE to understand that no matter how much protection you use, you might get pregnant, or get someone pregnant. Simple as that. And if you think you'd even consider abortion, you shouldn't be having sex. However, I don't believe abortion should be outlawed because in some cases, I think it's permissable. If a woman is raped - especially a child - and becomes pregnant, she should have the option of aborting. I mean, having to deal with a rape is hard enough - but bearing your rapist's child? Some women wouldn't be able to handle it, and I can't blame them. There are also cases when having a baby seriously jeopardizes the mother's health, and in that instance, I believe she should have the option to abort as well.
dxpsman
: Pro Life. Abortion is murder
Is homosexuality morally wrong and why do you believe the way you do?
(8 answers)
StellarStar311
: No. I believe that you can't help who you love and are attracted to and it's just as natural as any heterosexual relationship
clouded_vision
: i just don't know. it's not unnatural though... it exists in nature
elementsktgirl
: NO. People who believe it is morally wrong only have their religious beliefs to back that up. Well... Religion is crap. If to people of the same sex want do fuck, let them. It in no way affects anyone else.
Eowyn_Athena
: As I said in the question above, you're stupid. If you don't believe homosexuality is moral, then fine, but don't go spouting nonsense such as it's unnatural. My male dog humps other male dogs all the time. So apparently it DOES occur in nature, which makes it natural. Anyway, I personally believe homosexuality is wired into people's brains - it's not a choice. And I think discriminating against someone because they are gay is like discriminating against someone because they're black - neither person had a choice in the matter.
dxpsman
: Homosexuality is wrong. Our country's God has declared that, and it is also unnatural for such things to happen
What do you think of the war in Iraq?
(5 answers)

: nothing. I care more about the vietnam war.
dxpsman
: The war is morally wrong, and we never should have gone in in the first place. However, once we're in, we should WIN. We're not doing that....
freeagent94
: its a question of proportionality really...... stop sadamn, hundreds die... ignore sadamn, thousands die.......... so i think its justified...... and to prove the oil statement wrong, why would america go to war with a country for oil when we only get 2% of our oil from that country in the first place...? hell, if we wanted oil so allegedly bad then bush sr. would have helped iraq invade kuwait in desert storm
xtopher

What do you think of the military or people in the military?
(8 answers)
KittieKat8181
: they are very courageous people. I know. My best friend in the whole world Michael is graduating highschool next year and has strong views in the military. He is even on state staff. When he graduates he is going to the army then straight over to Iraq.I only wish I was as brave as him.
mikedude03
: although I don't agree with all of the things that the government has them do, i think it takes courage to pick up a gun with the intent of protecting your country, and i am grateful for the fact that they are protecting my way of life.
elementsktgirl
: They're just doiung their job. Not all of them agree with their actions, but hey, you have to make a living somehow.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
(9 answers)
clouded_vision
: able but not willing... that defeats the purpose of free will.
freeagent94
: i think the whole concept of religion is a load of crap
Eowyn_Athena
: If God were to eradicate evil, or to prevent it from happening, then he would take away our freedom - which I believe is an evil in itself. I believe this is one of those questions we can speculate on, but never fully understand or know the answer to. My belief is that God is able but not willing. Just as a parent does not restrict EVERY potential evil from a child, God will not restrict us from every potential evil. A good parent will set boundaries, but also allow the child to make mistakes (some of which may be "evil"), and most importantly, the parent will not take away the consequences of that mistake, but instead, let the child deal with the repercussions of what he chose to do. That, I believe, is what God does, on a larger scale.
missgiggles
: If god could be described as melevolent, then he is like satan in shiny armor. But if he can be described as omnipotent, he is just careless. If we look at it this way, god is synonomous for satan and vice versa. And if we did look at it that way, he wouldn't be omnipotent at all, he would be impotent. Then why do we call him god? Because if he isn't omnipotent and he is melevolent, then we call him god because we simply do not know any better.
topanga1121
: I believe God is both omnipotent AND omniscient, but something someone else wrote that I read online is something I think is worth interjecting here... "God doesn't have to be some campy comic superhero or a childhood myth. He doesn't have to be some big mystery. You can believe in Him without accepting every detail of every Bible story to be absolute truth. You can believe that He lives in your heart and is not a magic man, but rather some sense of the soul that you feel within. The details are ultimately up to you... even if you choose to belong to a church… I honestly understand what it feels like to doubt the existence of God. But He's not some magical man in the sky doling out rewards and punishments. Neither is He some tyrannical despot who demands you spend one day a week on your knees in praise of Him. He's your friend. He's your father. And He will come to you if you ask for Him... in your own time. He wants you to be ready, unafraid, and willing to open yourself up to the idea that all of this wasn't some cosmic accident and that you aren't simply a result of survival of the fittest." (If anyone wants to read the whole article, just ask.)
chariss
: God gave us the free will to choose what we're going to do...it's us who made the lives we all have right now. If you believe in life after death...wherein all the righteous people gather together and enjoy the good life He has prepared. if there is no such thing as evil, then there is nothing like the bad and the righteous. who would then qualify for the the ever-lasting life? we? all of us? then why is there a needto promise heaven when all us deserves it? when sin entered the land, it was then settled that only the good ones will have everlasting life. God is just being fair. consider a game...it's not exciting when the opponent doesn't show up and the other wins by default.
Braddles
: Oh very clever. But theres a flaw there: hes not malevolent for being able but not willing, hes just giving people a choice. a chance to do what they want and rough it out with the big boys in the deep end.
