Is it as often the case that when somebody feels the need to tell somebody they love them, constantly every single time they talk, that they're trying to convince themselves of that as much as anything else? Isn't love a little beyond spamming <33
(4 answers)
UnknownMisfit01
: Yeah, I guess so.
hayliehalze666
: oh my. thats a really deep thought.it could also be that the one that says i love you all the time thinks that the other person doesn't have as deep of feelings, so theyre hoping that when they say i love you that theyll get an "i love you" back because maybe they never hear it?
boxocereal
: I agree with nirvanalove. It may not be to convice themselves but maybe they think that's the best way to express love.
Some say that to provide audiences with a performance devoid of any emotion and depth whatsoever , Kristen Stewart was murdered pre-production and replaced by a cyborg. Any merit to this theory?
(6 answers)
Angela727
: If only that were true then I would have some respect for Twilight. Cyborgs are cool.
Fruffles

Why do fighters/racers feel the need to thank god after every victory? As if their training and dedication played zero part....
(7 answers)
Angela727
: I think it's just shorter and easier. Like creationism as opposed to science. Who wants to learn all the names of our possible ancestors when you could just belligerently shout "GOD" as the answer to everything?
Ezrider_92356
: i think they are thanking god they didnt die
Fruffles
: because they're thankful that things went smoothly and they didn't get hurt - or seriously hurt, depending on what they've just won =P

Two cars are traveling down a motorway, one is being driven by a black man moving at 30mph, the other by a giraffe at 100mph, which driver will be stopped first and beaten heaviest?
(6 answers)
boxocereal
: Since when do giraffes drive?
Ch3ca
: black man because girraffes are to cute to beat. oh and also most cops are racist
zippy1357

What responsibilities come with freedom of speech and the freedom to protest peacefully?
(5 answers)
Ch3ca
: not cussing out authority figures with that freedom of speech
boxocereal
: Respect!
sargent_froggie
: To use these rights with discretion.

ashleybomb2009

I would like to read everything, sample the work of greatest writers in the world. But I can't seem to focus my mind for long enough, to absorb the words, how do you concentrate on a new book? How can you be interested in almost any theme?
(8 answers)
boxocereal
: I can't always concentrate on a new book. It's got to grab my attention right away or I lose interest.
Fruffles
: wow i'm the total opposite lol i start a book and can't put it down (well except for Stephan King's DreamCatcher - it was soooooooooo boring). I if i start a good enough book, i barely put it down to eat lol i get a little obsessive about finishing it lol my record is reading a 1100 pg book withing three days - i was sick and stayed home from school so i had nothing better to do hehe
sargent_froggie
: Concentrate on the author, try to get in their head through their words. I'm in the middle of Republic, and almost gave up on it until I started looking at how his ideas were revolutionary at the time, and how the general style (which is grating) was very common at that point in time.
djhowty
: holy crap i'm reading a great book. "the savage wars of peace." makes me proud to be a marine . . . and i'm not a war-mongering imperialist.
ololangel2006
: I always try to find out more about a book before I read it. Then I can look forward to different plot twists and things like that. If you have trouble focusing try finding out thing like the time period it was written in and the historical context it was taken out of. Then you have a background for everything....it's almost impossible not to be interested after that.
djhowty
: if i don't like how the book is written or the plot/characters seem stale and it's not for class, then i don't read it. no shame in putting down a terrible book.
How compatible is the theory of evolution with christianity? Is a belief in evolution necessarily a block on a belief of an intelligent design?
(6 answers)
boxocereal
: I think they can be compatible even though I don't believe in christianity.
sargent_froggie
: I don't think so.
DarthSib
: I think its quite compatible, I cant speak for all denominations of Christianity but I was brought up to not take the Bible as a literal work. As for your second question I always like to say "evolution answer the question how not why."
ololangel2006
: I dont know about the second question.
ololangel2006
: most christians I have encountered believe in the theory of evolution up to a point . They believe that God started evolution, put it in motion and in the process of doing so gave us free will and the ability to think and compromise and not be a slave to instinct.
Did you know that political correctness, used to be called spastic-gaytalk?

sargent_froggie
: Writing your own book for future generations to have trouble 'getting into'
ololangel2006
: I agreee with cappucino.....but I think it's cool you answer questions
Cappucino
: Having sex would have been a much better way to spend your time.
CaliGirl333
: You wouldn't have done anything with it anyway. I wouldn't, at least. Maybe I'd have taken up video games instead or spent that time playing solitaire. Wasted time is wasted forever.
djhowty
: haha, try 23,800 and counting. wow, i'm such a loser.
Would all feast days be celebrated with equal vigour if like St Patricks Day they were associated with getting drunk for no good reason?

People who hate the police for whatever absurd reason, would they prefer a society which had no form of law enforcement whatsoever? In what way would life be better if criminality was allowed to flourish unchecked?
(12 answers)
Ch3ca
: because the criminals would get no thrill if they werent taking a risk so crime would just sorta die out
sargent_froggie
: Ugh.
CaliGirl333
: This is a false dillema. The police we have aren't the one and only alternative to no law enforcement at all. Without police, people would still enforce laws. The concept of ideal law enforcement in my mind is when ordinary citizens would feel compelled and responsible to stand up for victims of crime, and let the victimless crimes no longer make someone a criminal.
custodianofanarchy
: sorry *abolition*
custodianofanarchy
: I hate police because I have seen them in action, and (MOST, not all, I have met amazingly decent officers) they are mostly last years bullys and jocks. The common cop tends to be racist, sexist, and incredibly prejudiced. I hate the police because I dont think that most of them truly know what justice is. They have their own idea of justice, and, more often than not(ironically) it has little to do with the law. I.E, here in CA, cops (under the 2nd bush admin.) bust medicinal marijuanna (yeah, never mind Meth or Crack labs) dispenseries (which are legal, but due to bull**** "State and Federal law conflict" arguments), confiscating plants and putting sick people in jail with rapists, murderers and thieves. Not because they broke the law, but because police are convinced that pot is wrong no matter what laws protect its medicinal use. Cops here often resent Mexicans, and so we ended up with the May Day riots, in which unarmed, peaceful protesters were beaten and shot with rubber bullets, despite the rights protecting both the protesters and the press. Those who make peaceful revolution of thought impossible, will make violent revolution certain. I would not ask for the abolitio of police, but rather that they ACTUALLY uphold their duty, instead of their own ideals.
happy_B0bbles
: Well, i for one, have nothing against police.
Paintball_Lover
: Maybe the police could get down off their high horse and stop having their little power trips and bullying people. Like maybe focus on more dangerous drugs instead of pot? And a lot of policemen are corrupt.
boxocereal
: I ask the same question.
djhowty
: i have no idea why people hate the police.
madaboutjess
: Their hate might not be unjustified or absurd. But given the many problems with law enforcement is it better to get rid of it? No. But you ask would it better to let it flourish unchecked. I can only say even with having a police force it doesn't get rid of crime. If anything it helps stimulate it. Yeah their are lots of people behind bars. But look at things like the mob and gangs. If the police force were what it stands for completely you would think there wouldn''t any crime at all
"Luck is probability taken personally." Agree or disagree? Does luck exist & ifso can you prove it? or is it a complete fallacy?
(6 answers)
boxocereal
: I'll agree with CaliGirl333
sargent_froggie
: Fallacy. Though I have noticed that an improbably high number of very good things always happen to me on every Friday the 13th.
CaliGirl333
: There's nothing wrong with believing in things that don't exist. Luck is more than just probability, good and bad luck are both mindsets. One makes you feel privileged and the other, victimized. Positive thinking, or believing you have good luck, attracts more positive because that's just the way life works.
happy_B0bbles
: Abortions?
All knowledge is good (be it on religion, evolution, history etc) and only how that knowledge is used can be deemed good or bad. Thoughts?
(8 answers)
boxocereal
: =)
sargent_froggie
: MOre knowledge is always good.
DarthSib
: I agree 100%
happy_B0bbles
: I agree with the statement.
Paintball_Lover
: I suppose that's true.
KaylaFierce
: True. Knowledge is power. If you are knowledgeable about something, you can use that knowledge to make sure it doesnt repeat itself, or you can use that knowledge to create it all over again.
CaliGirl333
: Knowledge make us grow. It can be haunting or devastating or dangerous, but it gives us more power in every case.
Plagiarism, naughty naughty, copying and pasting entire passages word for word and posting them as questions, apparently so you look clever with the fancy words included in it, for shame. Thoughts on plagiarists?
(13 answers)
boxocereal
: Not good.
Ch3ca
: it just shows the person is stupid, ignorant, no innovation, and they must be a very boring person to have to get their ideas from anothers work.
sargent_froggie
: It's not plaigarism if you're asking for thoughts on someone else's words. However, posting it in your profile, etc, without proper credit to the author should be considered plaigarism.
ololangel2006
: It is a shame that some people are so uncreative that they have to take someone else's work
custodianofanarchy
: I totally agree, one of my questions was stolen....but besides questions, plagarism is just plain disgraceful...homages are fine though. I agree with Lifeguardude. I also think that plagiarism is the most surefire way to show everyone that you are utterly incapable of original thought.
happy_B0bbles
: Naughty, naughty indeedy. Well, if you are going to post a collected bunch of questions, claim them as your own.. to make yourself appear more intelligent, then that's just stupid...And you're eventually going to look like an ass, when people realise. However.. If you do come across a question (not your own), and you're interested in seeing other people's thoughts, views and answers... then i'm fine with it.
Slaytanicus
: Agreed with lifeguardude
Lifeguardude
: No plagiarist can legally call themselves a Writer.
djhowty
: idiots who haven't learned that the TRUE art form involves proper citation.
Provectus
: Plagiarists are thieves
Cattonabox
: haha. [: Thank you.
If I begin peddling random statistics from equally random sources on both important and irrelevant social issues, will that make me look smart to?
(10 answers)
boxocereal
: Nope.
sargent_froggie
: Not in particular, but using the proper amount of o's in 'too' may ;)
ololangel2006
: probably....you already seem smart to me *_*
happy_B0bbles
: No.. Posting random statistics doesnt make you look smart.... Being smart makes you look smart.
Paintball_Lover
: Possibly.
sue_me
: probably
djhowty
: to some people. me, i already know you're smart.
faerie_kisses
: Definitely.
How can a woman complain about the way other women are portrayed in the media etc, when the very same people buy the celebrity magasines and are scathing in their opinions of the looks of others? Is it all not just a tad bit self-inflicted?
(7 answers)
Fruffles
: I agree with happyB0bbles lol not all girls are obsessed with the looks of celebrities. I personally don't care about their looks, all i'm concerned with is their talent as actors or singers or whatever - half the celebrities are horribly untalented
sargent_froggie
: If I ever hear another girl complain about body image portrayal in the medi while perusing Cosmo, I point out that she's part of the problem.
happy_B0bbles
: Not all women complain. And not all women (i, for one) pay attention to celebrity magazines.. and media. But i agree.. You're right.
Paintball_Lover
: Just a tad bit.
Lifeguardude
: "Frailty, thy name is Woman!" ........I didn't say it, Shakespeare did.
boxocereal
: The only thing that bothers me is when celebrities are airbrushed and then guys are all like "omg she's hot" ....that's because she's airbrushed dumbass!
Why such a keen fascination with celebrity culture & gossip?
(11 answers)
gayguyinsussex
: it is interesting, sometimes. Depends on who it is
sargent_froggie
: It has absolutely no appeal to me.
DarthSib
: I have often wondered the same thing...
ololangel2006
: I can't even name 3 celebrities. I always feel so disconnected with the world :)
happy_B0bbles
: I have no "keen" fascination with celebrities and gossip.
Paintball_Lover
: People aren't as keenly fascinated with their own lives.
sue_me
: i don't like it . so what if they die or break a bone or whatever?
Lifeguardude
: It's in the news, so it HAS to be important
anomiedistributer
: distractions of course
boxocereal
: Oh, they just seem to lead such interesting lives compared to mine.
Have you ever found that the chase is often the most exciting and rewarding part of getting with somebody that you like? That the uncertainty, hard to get phase is essential?
(11 answers)
boxocereal
: I like that part but I don't think it's the most exciting and rewarding part about a relationship.
jrock_is_teh_smex
: I never chase
sargent_froggie
: uh, no.
happy_B0bbles
: No. I dont chase men. I can understand how some people can get their thrills by it.
Paintball_Lover
: I guess that's true.
Cappucino
: Yes. Like clothes, they can look so good on the display model, but when you try them on, sometimes, they just dont fit.
djhowty
: that's why i prefer admiring from afar. then again, i'm a commitment-phobe
faerie_kisses
: Sometimes its thrilling. Other times its boring. A good chase is fun though, especially if one is worth chasing.
America's Next Top Model, shallowest most pointless show on the air? Modelling, another way of declaring oneself as talentless?
(9 answers)
jrock_is_teh_smex
: I kind of agree. The show it self is pointless but modeling is serious business. I hate dealing with a model who doesn't know how to move.
sargent_froggie
: Pretty much.
x0MaRiAx0
: Um no. Im in modeling school and the walk isnt easy.photoshoots arent easy.you have to learn how to put your fingers at a certain place so they dont look weird ect. my 1st pics came out so crappy. so no. not talentless at all.
custodianofanarchy
: Yes, it is definately up there. But even worse than simply being talentless(depending entirely on shallow criteria), it inspires others to be talentless.
happy_B0bbles
: Aha. You may be right.... Actually, come to think about uit... There are more shallow and pointless shows out there. Usually people who apply for silly, "reality TV shows" are talentless.
Paintball_Lover
: I agree.
boxocereal
: What Baby_Face69 said.
Baby_Face69
: Shallow pointless show, yes. Talentless no. You try going through a photoshoot.
Some people come into your life for a fleeting moment and you think to yourself that even though you don't know this person, you would gladly change everything about you for them, what can you say to this person to make them understand?
(6 answers)
boxocereal
: You probably can't without them thinking you're crazy.
sargent_froggie
: uh... I suppose that would be the point you stand there stupidly and blurt, "I love you!" in a creepy stalkerish manner and hope the feeling is reciprocated.
KaylaFierce
: well, i dont change myself for anybody. So....or maybe i just havent experienced this notion you're talking about.
faerie_kisses
: tell them just that and hope to god they don't think you're insane
Humans are immeasurably more intelligent than any other species, we have formed civilisations, the rule or law, developed technology, cured diseases etc. Evolution/Nature has given us this power, in what way then are other animals our equals?
(7 answers)
boxocereal
: I agree with SBG. There are human that are more intelligent than other humans..who cares.
faerie_kisses
: They were not designed to be on par with humans. Simple as that, they're not our equals.
SBG_Writer9289
: They were here first, you have to respect them regardless. And humans destroy the earth more than they try to save it. We assume we're higher up but we're not. We're too dependent on technology and it's screwing us.
Bored_2day
: With other mammals our endocrine systems and the hypophysial system cause our adrenal glands to produce comparable amounts of noepinephrine in response to stimuli.
Lifeguardude
: They're not our equals, saying "they were here first" is just as logical an argument as "Let's use the guillotine. Its been around since before we were born."
penpen15
: I dont think we're equal to any animals. Which is why i dont mind eating them for dinner :)
To follow-up a previous question I posted in the same spirit, still why so fat?

What is the worst, most pointless, least educated response you ever received to a serious question you posted?
(10 answers)
boxocereal
: I don't know, I just hate when people tYpe LiKe ThIs...
sargent_froggie
: it consisted of "wtf, y u pit dis u bitch?! I deleted it on sight.
happy_B0bbles
: But i usually hate "yes/no" & "one-worded" answers....
happy_B0bbles
: My questions are not very serious.
LongLiveTheLoud
: Slaytanicus' answers Are as a matter of fact golden. :DDD
penpen15
: yea, i dont do serious questions.
Lifeguardude
: hmm I might have to do some serious questions for a change and see what pops up.
Slaytanicus
: look in my Q&A under the question, "What about all the GOOD things hitler did?" The bottom two answers are golden.
ashleybomb2009

Where exactly does the remote control go when it decides to hide away?
(8 answers)
boxocereal

SBG_Writer9289

Cappucino

What role if any does homosexuality have within nature? Is it simply an anomoly, albeit a common one? I cant personally see how it is supposed to be apart of our design, when procreation is necessary for the survival of a species. Thoughts?
(8 answers)
boxocereal
: Well, everyone doesn't need to have babies.
CaliGirl333
: Evidence against intelligent design.
ashleybomb2009
: i dont care about homosexuality and i hate people who hate it
SBG_Writer9289
: Why do you give a sh*t. It's been going on for years, even dogs and horses go for a bit of guy on guy or girl on girl.
Cappucino
: Maybe it has the same role as the clitoris.
b_ox
: homosexuality might exist as a form of population control, so that we might not inadvertently strain the resources of our habitats/ environments to the point of no return. plus, only a few within a species need to produce offspring for the species to survive.
Lets assume for a moment that it was once infact Snow White and the 9 dwarves, but political correctness removed two of them due to their offensive names, what do you think that they may have been called? e.g F@ggy & Rapey.

Why take the time to learn about a specific subject when you can simply make broad generalisations and wild unfounded accusations? Takes less intelligence afterall, so it's all good.
(7 answers)
boxocereal
: =D
faerie_kisses
: it's an easy way to get a bunch of tards to think you're big sh.t
Bored_2day

There are many undemocratic nations in the world, should pressure be put on them to conform and develop democracy or should they like the Western world, be allowed to find their own way and develop naturally over time?

Bored_2day

Bored_2day
: I think we need to butt f.uck Kim Jung Ill on national television. Send a message to the world.
loving_tyler_2005
: They should find their own way.
Lifeguardude
: Definitely, especially in the middle east. They obviously don't like us, so we should just leave and let them blow each other back to the stone age on their own.
SBG_Writer9289
: They should develope over time
I feel that being a fanatical supporter of Obama, to see his as the Messiah is wrong, but to assume nothing will change & being totally negative about him is equally foolish, isn't taking a balanced view much more worthwhile than either extreme?
(7 answers)
boxocereal
: I couldn't agree more.
custodianofanarchy
: I totally agree. He is a man, not a god. Both views are totally foolish. And to anyone who wishes for his assassination, i would only ask you to watch footage of 1992's "Rodney King" riots or the rioting that happened after MLK was assassinated....and multiply that. Ive been through riots(comparatively small) and trust me, you do NOT want that here. So I would simply ask that you actually think about what you say before you spout petulant garbage. Over-hyped extremes are just views that people cling to so they dont have to think. Democrats sucking up to Obama are no different than the Republicans who blindly drooled over Reagan. Again, i totally agree with the question.

So ultimate freethinking is not possible i think, but if you work hard enough at researching every aspect of your beliefs and be all logical about it, i think you could become a "higher" freethinker then say, most people.
