	zippy1357: met this cute asian girl and was talking to her and her friends. i noticed an accent and asked where she was from and she said some town in east china. five minutes go by with us talking and i ask her "i'm sorry, i forgot, which island of japan are you from again?" and everyone heard. silence that lasted forever.

	zippy1357: it's not bs and if you look at the massive quantity of scientific research the amount against it is almost non existent in comparison. it is an American phenomenon that people don't believe in it. several big US oil companies (sorry i'm blanking on the names) actually hired the same PR company that represented Marlborough and other tobacco companies in order to suppress the idea of global warming for fear that people would start driving less or look for alternative fuel sources. documentation from the PR companies agreed to represent but said itself that global warming was an inarguable truth. furthermore, recent data has shown melting of the north pole is occuring at a faster rate than predicted because of the watershed effects of melting ice speeding up the liquidification of deep ice. island nations and states around australia and new zealand are experiencing massive emigration because of rising water levels which are wiping out potable water resources and killing aggriculture so the population capacities are dropping and driving people off the islands, largely to australia. the snow on top of mount kilamenjaro is nearly gone and there is data which shows the rate of temperature increase perfectly corresponds with human industrial development on top of the fact that we've been seeing increases in the amount/time period of massive meteorological events than ever before, hurricane katrina, hurricane sandy, hurricane mitch all in a rather short period of time, one symptom of global warming is large weather swings so it can actually get extremely cold one year and extremely warm the next, that is a symptom (and no it isn't like "well then everything is global warming"). last year connecticut got snow once, lightly, on halloween. this year it got 38 inches in one day, that is a weather swing. the effects of it are pretty wide spread, you hear opponents of it b!ching about the fear of global cooling which must be the opposite of global warming therefore discrediting the theory. global cooling would be an effect of global warming in that if the ice caps melt enough it will dilute the osmolality of the north atlantic and stop the gulf stream from bringing warm water north from the caribbean. this would cool europe enormously and probably have an effect on the jet stream as well depressing the temperature there and in new england and east canada as well. if you don't believe in global warming you haven't tried to learn about it enough or properly.
