We as a race of humans need to keep reproducing so our species doesn't die out. So I guess the more kids someone has, the more chances our species survives. But also no because having too many kids means more problems for the parents. Not saying that it's impossible to take care of like 7 or more kids, but sometimes too many is just enough.  springbreaker: not everyone should be allowed to have kids - you should have to pass several tests - mental, physical, financial etc.  springbreaker: Alernately, you have octo-mom who can't support her kids - your taxes do that - and the 24 and counting family, which just really freaks me out :)  springbreaker: yes, and the limit should be... none! I suppose it goes the other way too, scientists that pose that because, through man's discoveries, science is more and more able to explain everything about the world, and that theoritically it could actually explain everything in the world, and so there would be no room for religion. I see this world as a grand illusion. There is much about it that is amazing, but in the end it is all very meaningless. I do think there is a reason for being here though. There is a story around that reason, but I will save it for later. Despite having a reason, it is not one that I must act on right now in this life. Millions of children die every year. If they had their own purpose here, it is unlikely they were able to fulfill it during their short lives. I believe there always be another chance, in another life, or by some other means. I only live to fulfill my purpose, and believeing that there is always another chance makes it easy to not care if I live or die. In actuality, I feel pretty well equipped in this life right now, and If I was born again on Earth I doubt I'd be as lucky, and probably much less able to do what I intend to do.
