What in the hell (no pun intended) was God thinking when he made "flightless birds" (i.e. chickens, ostriches, etc.)?

: Viva la evolution! Chickens were domestically bred by us to be flightless. And ostriches have an advantage (running speed) that allows them to occupy a ecological niche.
