I guess just knowing that acknowledging who I am instead of pretending to be someone I'm not for my whole life makes the risk of me getting harassed/beaten up/raped/murdered skyrocket, and to make my sex conform with my gender so I can be comfortable and legally recognized as who I am, I have to be irreversibly sterilized, and I have to tell the state that I have a mental disorder, and I have to go to a therapist they choose and tell them what they want to hear so I can get my surgery... it scares me.
