There are so many misconceptions about marijuana. Marijuana doesn’t kill brain cells. Marijuana isn’t physically addictive. Marijuana has been shown to help people with AIDS and cancer patients that are under chemo, to give them their appetites back. Marijuana does impair judgment, and it also can cause a pot smoker to gain a lot of weight, if the person smokes enough. The munchies are bad for you.
Marijuana has some good stuff about it, but like all drugs, it does have its side effects. Yet, it’s still illegal, while alcohol and cigarettes are legal.
Cigarettes cause cancer. The only difference between cigarettes and marijuana is that the government makes money off of cigarette companies. Same with alcohol.
It doesn’t matter if there are more alcohol related deaths than pot related ones. The government would never ban alcohol and tobacco. Not only because of money, but because it wouldn’t work. Prohibition didn’t work in the 1920’s with alcohol. Banning tobacco wouldn’t cause people to stop using it. I can name five people at my high school that smoke pot.
Legalizing marijuana would do more good than harm. At least pot would help cancer and AIDS patients. The key word in legalizing it isn’t just helping them be able to eat, it’s the fact that it should be someone’s choice. Just like drinking is a choice, and smoking is a choice. The fact that people that support the choice of drinking and smoking, are against legalizing pot, speaks volumes on the hypocrisy of America.
